Spent 3 nights here while attending a trade show at the convention center. As mentioned before, all rooms have balconies over the river, something we enjoyed. Our room had a gas fireplace which we used. I assume all rooms have one. It was nothing fancy or over the top, but was clean and we slept good. Room service did an excellent job of keeping us with clean towels and tidying up the room. Breakfast was good.

We had honeymooned in Gatlinburg 43 years ago and were looking forward to a balcony on the river in a non smoking hotel. It's a great location, close to everything. We had booked the room last April with the early booking pre-paid plan. We had requested a wheelchair accessible room with a roll-in shower. Two or three times we called to be SURE we had the accommodations we required, and were assured we did. We had driven about ten hours to get there and were looking forward to a shower. We saw the no smoking signs all over the place which is good for those of us with lung problems to see. We got our assigned room; the desk clerk said, "That room is our roll-in shower." We got to our room and were immediately hit with the smell of stale cigarette smoke in the room. There was barely enough room to get my wheelchair into the room and not enough to maneuver. And the bathroom had a tub, not a roll in. So here we are with a non-refundable room for several days that we can't use. We did stay the night because we had no choice, but could not shower. We sat out on the balcony and enjoyed the river for about three minutes until someone on another balcony lit up. The staff did not know what rooms were what .... someone had just walked in asking for their largest room which turned out to be the only roll-in shower. We lost an entire day of our vacation moving to another hotel. And while we were reimbursed for the nights we didn't use, we feel the one night we stayed there wasn't worth the money. We both had difficulty breathing, and therefore sleeping that one night. Some anniversary trip!

Room Tip: All the rooms have balconies on the river. It is an older hotel, but in my book it was terrible ove...

All of the rooms at this hotel have a stunning view of the river below from the balcony . The rooms are just a little past their best but comfortable and quiet since the balcony view is at the rear of the hotel. The room was clean and a slightly musty smell cleared when the A/C was running. As with other comments, it was good to have a refrigerator and microwave, although this seems to be more common nowadays. We liked the breakfast and, overall, were happy with our stay.
The location is close enough to the center of Gatlinburg to easily walk (a bonus because parking in the center is a pain) - about 10 minutes. Pleasant staff and good service. We will stay here again.

Room Tip: Near the reception desk if you must have good wifi reception

The room was nice and clean. Refrigerator and microwave in the room is a positive. The Wi-fi did not work too well. The location is excellent. Very close to all the attractions. Good for a short stay.

We stayed at this hotel for four days 10-11 thru 10-14 in room 204. The most troubling was that at 7am on 10-14, there were two bedbugs on top of the sheets on one of the beds. My husband has one bite. We presented the bugs to management, who said when we got home to shake out all the things we had with us. No other instruction other than to let them know if we had any medical bills.

The picture on choicehotels.com grossly misrepresents this hotel. It has some kind of log cabin siding which obstructs the view on most of the front balcony, and appeared to be under renovation, which is badly needed. Room 204 was one that was apparently completed and was dark and smelly. It is correct that it is all of three car lengths from the main highway in Gatlinburg, and is three stories above one story of parking. There is a second level of parking down below, next to the river that had construction materials. The breakfast room was never big enough, and the Krispy Kreme donuts were stored for use the next day in an open box one shelf above two garbage cans.

I inquired of choicehotels.com about it and they were to get back to me in 72 hours. They haven't. I would NEVER stay here again, and regret that we stayed there as long as we did. This, along with the parks being closed, totally ruined our vacation.

Room Tip: Go on down the road.

The room was spacious and mostly renovated with clean paint, carpet, sink, counter and doors. They seem to have forgotten to renovate the bathtub and the beds.

The beds squeeked and felt quite "old". The bathtub was so gross that I didn't even want to stand in it to shower. The non skid circle stickies were black making them look filthy.

The room had a gorgeous view over the creek in the back with a nice balcony to sit on and the walls were fairly sound proof as I didn't hear the neighbours at all.

Aside from the bathtub, it was a great room and great hotel.

This is the third time we have stayed at this hotel. In the last three years, the hotel has undergone a number of upgrade that has made our stays more enjoyable. The rooms have been repainted, new carpet installed, electronic locks, microwave and mini-frig. Our stay was on Saturday night, and we did hear motorcycle sounds until 11pm. Our balcony was over the river. The water views and water sounds were delightful. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Breakfast included sausage, eggs, waffles, cereal, pastries, fruit, coffee, juice, and milk.

Room Tip: Upper floors have the best views!
