As you approach the entrance, you can detect the distinct smell of our grains cooking and fermenting. You'll see authentic working moonshine stills and experience the process from beginning to end. Our distillers will take the time to visit with you and answer any questions about the history and lore of moonshining in East Tennessee. After you see, smell and hear about the process, we offer tastings of our Award winning shine! Samples of our Original Unaged Corn Whiskey, White Lightnin' and Moonshine Cherries as well as Apple Pie and Blackberry flavors - plus we offer seasonal and special flavors that aren't available in package stores. “The Highlight of My Trip”
Reviewed November 29, 2013

I absolutely loved the Ole Smoky Moonshine Distillery! It was the highlight of my recent trip to Gatlinburg. The store is very welcoming and neatly arranged. The employees were very friendly. I loved having the opportunity to taste the different flavors of moonshine they sell. And it was delicious. Definitely a must-do for a trip to the Smokies!

“Free Hot Chocolate & Kettle Corn”
Reviewed November 28, 2013

The kids got freebies too while the adults got to taste the moonshine samples. The Apple Pie is our fav. Take a stroll through the distillery to learn a little science and history.

“Fun Place”
Reviewed November 27, 2013

Stopped to see the Ole Smoky Moonshine Distillery. Great attraction. Give folks not familiar with Moonshine a chance to sample the real stuff. Lots of samples straight or flavored up just show your ID, no exceptions. If liquor is not your thing there are plenty of options of non-alcoholic options. Employees are really upbeat, entertaining and anxious to answer any questions.

“Wonderful all the way around!!!”
Reviewed November 26, 2013

Our bartender was "Bootleg Bill" and we had a ball with his stories about the different moonshine flavors and mixed moonshine drinks, hard to believe they were free. Also free kettle corn for everyone and free hot chocolate too (kids drinks if you decide to take them). A bluegrass band plays and sets the whole atmosphere complete with rocking chairs in the middle section of "shops". Hidden but worth the find.
