“Secret hideaway”
Reviewed March 5, 2018 for a stay in March 2018

Let me just say that this place was soooo nice definitely a couples place to stay. Even though I when by myself it was a nice place plus you’re in the middle of pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. I love it!

“Perfect couples mountain retreat”

Very comfortable cabin with everything you need. Sits on a mountain, private from neighbors. Mountain roads and driveway are steep (as expected on a mountain side) but there's a large flat area to park at the bottom of the driveway. House is well decorated and furniture is very comfortable. King size bed is very cozy, the jetted bathtub is big enough for 2, and the shower is large as well. Hot tub was awesome, and the back deck is very nice (but bring bug spray). Kitchen has everything you need (utensils, cookware, etc) plus there's a charcoal grill outside. Pool table is a nice bonus and TV has tons of channels to choose from if you're staying in. There's a gas fireplace but use is restricted to Nov - Apr, I believe. This cabin is very close to Smoky Mtn Ntl Park and the downtown Gatlinburg area with lots of restaurants and activities to choose from. (Sugarlands whiskey / shine distillery is a must!) Pigeon Forge is not far, either, and also has tons of stuff to do. Hiking in the park is great, with many trails to choose from that suit your needs (from short and easy to longer and more difficult). Lots of wildlife around, including a young bear that seems to visit the cabin almost nightly to check out the garbage cans outside! (He came around the house as we got out of the car one night - he just looked at us for bit, my husband yelled for him go, and he went away.) Super comfortable, very nice place. We'd definitely stay here again.

“Beautiful Cabin”

My wife and I stayed here for five nights during Thanksgiving week. We used the cabin for a base for day hikes in the Smoky Mtn NP. The cabin is truly as pictured, and the deck is amazing.

The location is equidistant between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge - although we used Gatlinburg for most meals.

We didn't cook so we can't speak to how stocked the kitchen may or may not be.

We booked online and the communication with the owners was seamless and prompt. Directions the cabin were spot-on.

“Perfect for Recharging”

The cabin was as described and shown in pictures. It was clean and very pretty. My husband spent a lot of time in the hot tub! It was quiet and peaceful but still close to town and the trails. As others stated, the bathroom was small, but the shower was larger than expected for such a small bathroom. Loved the rain shower head! The king bed was firm and very comfortable. We only spent three nights there but would be happy to spend many more there! Would definitely recommend this cabin to others. Perfect place to stay.

“Cozy Getaway”
Reviewed August 2, 2017 for a stay in July 2017

We went for a weekend get away and was surprised to see how clean and cozy everything was. There is nothing old or worn about this cabin, it was cleaner than my own home. The amenities like a hot tub and Jacuzzi were perfect for the two of us. There were only a couple downsides to the whole experience: 1) the internet connection was slower than dial up (but there was satellite TV access with DVR), and 2) you could hear the highway while standing on the back porch. The drive way can be scary and if you are going in the winter, be prepared. This location was a perfect get away for a couple who wants seclusion but not to be far from downtown (it was only 15 minutes even with traffic).

“It was perfect!!”
Reviewed July 28, 2017 for a stay in July 2017

We spent a week recently at the Secret Hideaway cabin. It was everything we were hoping for and more. The cabin was spotless and the decor so lovely. It was very secluded and close to both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. It was a wonderful place to unwind after a long day of hiking in the mountains. We can't wait to go back!!

“HORRIBLE DRIVEWAY!!”

To start, the company I went through I would not recommend. This was not the cabin I booked and they moved me to another cabin with out informing me. And the lady I spoke with about it was rude, horrible customer service. They stated on the website the office to get your information would be open until a certain time we got there 2 hours before hand they just decided to leave early and did not let me what we had to do to get our information. The cabin its self is as pictures show it is. A very cute cabin perfect to get away but, the bed is hard as a rock and the tub on the in side water does not stay hot long enough to fill it up. The drive way to get to this cabin is awful!!!! If my husband did not drive his truck we would not have gotten to the cabin They need to warn people about something like that especially when you are not use to driving on something so steep. And there is no view what so ever so do not expect one. The only reason I am giving it 3 stars is because it was very clean and it was just like the pictures showed. If you can handle no view and horrible drive way then this will be fine for you.

In reply to "Horrible Driveway"
Thank you for providing feedback on your visit to Secret Hideaway. We believe accurate and honest feedback are very important and I would like to take a moment to comment on some of the items in your review. Regarding your comment on "Horrible Driveway" is felt to be misleading. The driveway is over 27' wide at the entrance to the street and has a gentle downward slope to the cabin. The entire driveway is asphalt and over half of it was widened and repaved in 2015. This improvement and cost thereof has added to the accessability, not taken away. There is also a large flat area in front of the cabin that will easily accommodate at least 4 full size pickup trucks and unlike many cabins, this driveway provide ample room to turn around. The driveway is all asphalt and has no ruts, gravel or potholes. It is in VERY good, smooth condition. The comment regarding "the bed is hard as a rock" reflects your personal choice. The beautiful Log Bed with king mattress has a quality, firm mattress that many other guests have commented on how comfortable the bed is.With a rental cabin it is not possible to supply a mattress that appeals to those who prefer a soft mattress and at the same time please those who prefer a firm mattress. Additioinally, thank you for your comment on the Jacuzzi Tub not staying hot. We did not hear from you during your stay about this and if so we would have had it checked out. So after your comment we had a plumber check the water heater and one heating element was burnt out. We had both heating elements and both thermostats replaced and the large Jacuzzi Tub now has plenty of hot water. In addition, your comment "if my husband did not drive his truck we would not have gotten to the cabin" is misleading. As previously mentioned, the condition of the driveway is fantastic. If you were referring to the downhill slope, please note that the owners of Secret Hideaway and the cleaners all drive small 2 door sport coupes which have 6" of ground clearance to the cabin with absolutely no issues. If you are from a state which is mostly flat ground we understand that you may not be comfortable driving in the mountains of the nation's most visited National Park but all visitors to the Great Smokey Mountains should understand that they will encounter hills, slopes and mountains during their visit. Also your comment "there is no view what so ever" is also misleading. The pictures on the website are accurate. The view from the rear of the cabin is bordered by the Great Smokey Mountain National Park boundary. The view of the Great Smokey Mountain forest, its wildlife and the "privacy" offered by this setting is greatly appreciated and requested by guests. Thus the name " Secret Hideaway". The owners recently added a 52' long deck on the back of the cabin to provide plenty of space to move around and enjoy the beautiful view of the forest. If you were seeking a more mountainous view, then you would need to drive up some our more curvey, steep roads which you have stated that you are "not used to driving up" and need to be warned. Finally, Thank You for your comment that Secret Hideaway is "a very cute cabin, perfect to get away and very clean". We strive in every effort to maintain our properties in the best condition possible so that our guests will enjoy their visit. Once again, thank you for your visit.
