Booked a Smoking King size room through Howard Johnsons website when we arrived was told they had no More Smoking rooms. Front Desk Clerk upgraded us to a jucuzzi King Suit and gave us a discount . Very Friendly staff. Room was a little outdated but still nice. Breakfest was so so . A little walk from the center of town but would stay here again

Stayed in room 299 with panoramic view of the city and side of the mountain. The view is nice, but there wasn't enough curtains to cover the windows which meant as soon as the sun came up, it was right in our faces. Ice machines are still not working as mentioned in other reviews. The Wifi barely works. I found connecting to another hotel down the street works better. The carpet was stained. The layout of the room was odd and terrible. Mold was growing inside one of the picture frames on the wall. The whirlpool tub was in the corner by a window that you couldn't cover completely which meant less privacy. Water pressure in the shower was low and dripped for hours after you cut the water off. I could hear other people in the hotel while in the bathroom. We had to put a towel down in front of the door to the room to keep cold air out and the heat in. There were several dead flies lying around the room, we added to at least two to the death count. Also had a ladybug in the room. Traffic on the main street below was noisy but was mostly drowned out by the sound of the heating.

On the bright side, its located toward one side of the city with a short walk to all the great attractions. We were never disturbed by hotel staff once we put the do not disturb sign up. The cleaning staff hung extra towels, soap, coffee, cups, etc in a bag on the door knob. The whirlpool tub was quite relaxing after a long day of sight seeing. Very inexpensive.

First of all , this is not the first time we stayed here. The hotel is in a good location , easy walk to shops and food . Good continential breakfast ... Now for the bad .. the mattresses are wore out . The carpet is wore out . We stayed Friday ,Saturday and Sunday and all the housecleaning did was put clean towels in the bathroom , didnt make up beds or clean or empty trash cans . And to top it off I went to get on elevator and it got stuck between two floors , I was on there for 45 minutes , then the front desk never offered a free night or anything , I pushed the issue and got a free night , but it wasnt their idea. We go to Gatlinburg 3 or 4 times a year , and we won't be staying here again . The guys that got me out of the elevator were employees of Reagan Resorts which makes me believe this is a Reagan owned hotel , Which I find hard to believe that they let a property get this run down ...

Room Tip: Stay at another hotel
