We stumbled upon this place after a horrifying experience at the British Pub down the road. We will review them separately. When we got here we were so lucky! They were very nice, and the food was sooooo gooood. The southwest burger was awesome. The chicken salad was unique and amazing. We liked the look of the place and it was very clean. Great find.

As a resident and business owner of Gatlinburg, we are frequently asked ‘Where is good to eat’. Our first answer is ALWAYS Split Rail Eats.

This is one of the true hidden gems in Gatlinburg. Tucked away in the calm atmosphere of the Arts and Crafts district, away from the pizza slices, corn dogs and moonshine on the main strip. This is where the locals eat.... which is always a sign that the restaurant really is amazing.
It is a simple, down to earth restaurant, where you order at the counter and your food is brought to your table.

The food here is fabulous. Combinations of simple ingredients that put together create amazing flavors and make you wonder why you didn’t think of making it at home! The biscuits and gravy and the ‘Rocky Top’ (fried egg and bacon on top of tots with cheese sauce) at breakfast time (8am-11am) are a great way to start the day - they even have mimosas on weekends! We have probably tried most things on the menus and not one of them has failed to impress. All of the baked goods are made in-house, and it would be a travesty for you not to try one, even if you take it to-go!

The staff here are friendly and non-intrusive, the restaurant and restrooms are immaculately clean at all times, and you can tell the whole team genuinely CARE about how the food is prepared, how it tastes, and that all of their customers are happy.

If you don’t visit Split Rail Eats while you are in Gatlinburg, you are missing out!

Split Rail has the best tater tots ever! They have unique menu items based on a tater tot bed. We had ground beef crumbs with veggies with thousand island dressing. Absolutely yummy. Other party members had a Reuben and turkey sandwich both excellent. Give it a try, you will not be disappointed!

Very limited selection, tater tots instead of hash browns the biscuits are not home made sausage and eggs are not bad. You walk up and order then brought to your table

Stopped here on a Sunday afternoon after many recommendations. It did not disappoint. The staff was friendly and the food was great. The restaurant was super clean. We ordered a cheesesteak and veggie burger both with fries. They were yummy. Everything was priced right, and I would highly recommend this place for a quick bite to eat.
