“Beautiful resort: unit location horrible”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 13, 2011

This is our second Blue Green resort property we have visited and I was so excited because of the absolutely beautiful Hammocks resort in Marathon Florida was so very nice. This resort is also very beautiful. The resort is nestled in beautiful Smoky Mountain hills: it really is beautful. Plenty of parking available. Three pools: 2 outdoor and 1 indoor/outdoor. Our unit 1141 was absolutely beautiful: had a fireplace, a balcony adjoined to the living room and bedroom and a hugh king size bed and jacuzzi tub. The unit was clean and gorgeous. Now to the disappointing reviews: the unit is located in the fourth floor far end toward one of the outdoor pools: there is ALOT of pool noise throughout the entire day: I would suggest that one pool be designated adult only. Secondly, starting between 730am-830am there was constant high heel noise of someone walking in the unit on the floor above. It was constant and the clicking of the heels never let up and it sounded like the Clydesdale horses going throughout the day. When we asked the blonde twit with the pink arm cast her response and the 6 inche heels she was wearing "it is only between 830am-430pm": well no excuse for poor customer service: wear flats you bimbo. Management needs to respect that fact that this is a vacation "resort" and not everyone wants to be up early in the morning with the constant clicking of heels. Other then those two issues: the property is beautiful and magnificantly maintained as long as you have a different unit.

My family and I stayed at this hotel for a family vacation in 2010. Overall the room itself was nice. However, we had a terrible night with our "neighbors" who were staying in the room next to ours. These "neighbors" were undoubtedly inebriated and were making very loud "noises" for all hours into the night. To make a long story short and to keep this story clean the walls are very thin. We complained several times by telephone to the front desk but the actions only escalated every time we complained. If my family was not on this trip with us, my husband and I would have checked out in the middle of the night and left for home. It was the worst hotel experience we have ever been involved in.

Great place to stay, nice and quiet. We stayed in unit 811 which is just a 1 bedroom but how much time do you REALLY spend in the room? Us, not much. Staff was great and the grounds are beautiful. This is where we will continue to stay when we come to Gatlinburg.

We have stayed here multiple times while attending a football tournament over Thanksgiving. Rooms do need a bit updating but are kept and clean. The two bedroom is plenty big for our family of five and having a full size kitchen keeps out cost down for eating out. The grocery is less than a 1/4 mile from the resort and parking garage is just down the hill for when visiting the strip. I have always had good service and suitable accommodations at this location. Being a Bluegreen owner I would recommend this location. The most exciting part of this trip is we have seen bears many many times. They are all around this complex and come out to feed at the dumpsters and on peoples trash that they leave outside their villas. Always a fun trip and we are returning this fall again :)

Just came back from a stay here and was disappointed with our accomodations! The one bedroom was very outdated! Think 90's? The furniture very old and used ... stains on spots. Their were two small sanyo tvs from 20 years ago and around 20 inches.... very sad! The table old scratched.. everything just worn out! The decor needs to be seriously thrown out! Oh and the bedroom looks like something from motel 6. The bedding was very old and tattered.. the sheets very cheap! the worst sleep I ever had every night! the bed is so uncomfortable! My back was killing me by the time we left! Needed a massage when I got home to relieve the pain!!!
Oh and lets not forget the screaming kids running around upstairs unit ... I thought they were going to come through the roof at any minute! NO soundproofing at all! Paper thin walls.. u can hear everything!
Seen two big spiders crawling and fried them with my big lighter...haha!
Also bought two big candles to kill the smell in the rooms... weird odor!
Oh and didn't dare venture out on the small deck outside... I seen one big nail hanging out where the end of the top deck meet ... yea nice... there was no support under the deck ...Dust on the hanging light in the kitchen ... ran my fingers in the window sills and blinds ... apparently those never get dusted either...
Then they leave you messages wanting you to go through their 2+ hr tour to sell you a timeshare.... NO THANKS!
I would not stay there again or recommend it to anyone! Save your money! I heard the Treetop resorts are nice ....

Beautiful view of the mountains. The family stayed 5 nights at this very comfortable resort. The kids loved the pool, and I used the fitness room daily. The activities staff had activities for the kids, and internet access was available. Being in the Smokey Mountains is one of the best trips that our family has taken. Highly recommend it.

We have stayed at Mountainloft several times. Depending on the suite, accomodations can be excellent or depressing. We always book a two bedroom because the one bedroom suites have been uncomfortable. This time we were assigned to a chalet (assigned because one has no choice). The suite had probably never been upgraded: old carpet, uncomfortable furniture that didn't fit the room, 18 inch TV 20 to 30 years old (lots of snow on screen). The master bedroom and bath were infested with close to a hundred ladybugs on the walls, the counter, the sink, the floor. The downstairs toilet looked as if someone had washed mud from their boots in it, and there was no toilet brush. The water came out brown from every faucet. It cleared after several minutes, but we were afraid to drink it. The unit had obviously not been used in a long time; however, housekeeping should have tuned it up before we arrived. We never elect to attend the sales pitch sessions; perhaps that was why we were assigned this unit. This was our 26th anniversary and we were tired after the long drive to Gatlinburg, so we didn't call to complain. Rather, we left the next morning and will never stay there again.
