Now, trying to find the Fox and Parrot was an adventure. Watch out for the other drivers, we were almost forced off the road by someone going way too fast. Remember, it's in the mountains and road speeds are really reduced. We really wanted to find this place. Wanted to go on Sunday but found out they closed at 6. But we went another day and are really glad we did. Yes there was a pothole in the parking lot but they had had rain for 2 weeks so that was understandable. If you can't climb stairs, don't go here. BUT if you can, it's well worth the trip upstairs. Very laid back atmosphere. Yes it's a 'bar' atmosphere but it's advertised as a pub. There were a couple of guys playing guitars inside the room, they actually were very good. And then there was a young lady out on the deck playing a mandolin and my grandson was very interested in it. She let him come and play it!! What a wonderful experience for him. Yep, all kinds of pub signs inside but take the time to look at them. We took several pictures. The wait staff who greeted us was also the cook and bartender. We got our mushrooms which were nice and juicy when you bit into them. Yes, we had to wait for our fish and chips but with only one person working the bar and kitchen, just sit back and enjoy the place. We would definitely recommend this unique experience to anyone.
recommend taking the time to this unique place.

Maybe it was an "off" day, but my husband & I could really not find any redeeming qualities of this pub/restaurant. We were looking for something to support locals, tired of chains, so thought we would give it a try. My husband's Guiness was flat, and it took quite some time to get that rectified. Chips were soggy & greasy and fish was mushy. I will say that the pasty wasn't bad.
Overall, would not recommend.

I've had a lot of good British and Irish pub food but this one was absolutely terrible.
We ordered chicken tenders and fish chips, waited over a half hour for it - thinking it will be hot, crispy when it comes to our table. We finally get our meals, the fish chips were rubbery, SOGGY and greasy and the fish was very thin. Her chicken was dry and old like it was reheated again and our home cut fries were badly undercooked.
Service was pretty absent, so we finally got up to pay our bill and the owner walked by our table and seen all the uneaten food on it ,came to cash us out and didn't even ask THE most important question you ask a customer, "Was everything ok?" He must not care about his food enough to even ask how it was...unbelievable. Go to long john silvers for bigger cheaper fish chips. Trust me on that one.

We honestly went here because it was family friendly, not a chain, and had great beers! We found it to be so much more. It's totally laid back, feels like you are in your own home, complete with toys, games, couches, and mis matched dinner tables! The food is AMAZING! It's all cooked to order, so when it comes out its fresh and HOT! The beer selection is fabulous, the best in and around Gatlinburg. The owners are super friendly and make you feel like you are an old timer there. Definitely a place if you need to get away from the touristy crap and really want good food and good beer!
