I stayed at this hotel this past weekend with my wife. The hotel is in a great location. The rooms were clean. The hotel needs an update. The wear and tear can be seen throughout the rooms (beat up furniture, old decor, moldy corner in shower, etc.) This didn't effect our stay, but it's just not up to par with other Hampton Inn's I've stayed in. If you're reading this Hampton Inn corporate headquarters, send someone to this hotel for a look around. Overall, great stay, great service, but this hotel needs updating.

Thank you for your comments regarding your stay with us. Our hotel is currently preparing for updates that will begin in early 2010. Part of the update will include replacing all of the furniture in the rooms which we currently have refinished every year. items such as the moldy corner in the shower will certainly be addressed with our housekeeping department. We appreicate our guests' comments and the opportunities to improve our Hampton Inn to meet their needs.

The hotel is in the most romantic location with the creek just outside the room. Beautiful in the fall. We cherish the hotel for our trips to the location. Service is absolutely excellent. The hotel is older and rooms can be pricey, but the experience is well worth it. Rooms are clean but need some up grades. Love the rustic feel for the king rooms with the wood panels. Wi-fi is excellent but standard for just about every Hampton we've ever stayed in. Have been going to the hotel for about 6 years now. Hope to return soon.

We stayed here for the second time and it was just as great as it was the first time. Clean rooms and a wonderful free breakfast. It is very close to great shopping and entertainment and very close to the best thing in gatlinburg, the Smoky Mountains National Park! I will stay here on my next trip.

D-I-R-T-Y! Hampton has lipsticked this pig but it's still an old overused hotel in Gatlinburg. Got a no smoking room directly above some well intentioned Americans who smoked on the balconey, the smoke then blew in the the room with the help of the fan. Nice! The mosquitoes were so thick I considered malaria prophylaxis, but only in the room. Never saw one outside. Probably too much smoking. Anyway, the dirty iron ruined a pair of pants, the "replacement" runied a shirt. Toilet required 2-3 flushings to get the job done. Furniture was clearly a culture for some new bio-weapon which I covered with towels swiped from the filthy, any infested pool. No gym. Vending machines ate 3$. Location is good if you like Gatlinburg but I'm thinking Scotsdale for next year's conference. Hampton could do so much better.

We were two hikers who who found this motel to be satisfactory. We liked the location -- somewhat removed from the carnival atmosphere of downtown Gatlinburg and very near the entrance to Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The continental breakfast was fine. An occasional shortage of tables was quickly remedied by a super efficient manager who cleared and cleaned tables almost as soon as they were available. Our only complain was maid service. They seemed averse to vacuuming the carpet. We complained after two nights. The management responded quickly by not just having the rug vacuumed but shampooed also! But the next day again no vacuuming -- our cracker crumbs were still on the floor -- and I think were still there when we left after five nights. Still, we would recommend Hampton Inn as a good value for the kind of room we needed.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel at the end of September 2009 for a single night while traveling to North Carolina. We had stayed at a different Hampton Inn previously so we knew what to expect and were not at all disappointed. The hotel is located near the end of the "strip" on Parkway Dr. so it keeps you a little out of the congestion down the street which is good. The room was quite comfortable, well appointed and very clean. Although it has outside entrances to the rooms, we felt perfectly safe and this was of no concern to us. We had a room on the creek side which is nice if you plan on sitting on the outdoor balcony, but there is an additional cost for these rooms and unless you plan to sit out there, a parking lot view is cheaper. The front desk staff is very courteous, and the free breakfast was certainly adequate as far as we were concerned. They provide free wireless computer access (although we did not have a laptop computer with us, which we WILL have on the next trip) and there also is a computer available in the main lobby breakfast area but I did not notice this until we were leaving the next morning. Overall we were very well satisfied with this hotel and I would definitely stay here again in the future should we be in the area again.

This is the first time I have ever written a negative review, but feel it is justified as we would never go back there.
We paid for a creekside room, but the noise from the lift at Ober Gatlinburg next door was so noisy that we could not enjoy the balcony. The room: Dirty worn carpet. Duvet insert lumpy. No sprinkler system in case of fire. Colors dark and dingy. Toilet so low we thought at first it was for a child. This is an older property that needs another facelift. Housekeeping never dusted or swept carpet while we were there (3 nights).
Parking: Limited space parking with an overflow upper level. Even though we were issued a parking permit for display, cars parked there with people just going shopping/sightseeing during the day.
Good things: Desk staff friendly and accommodating. Continental breakfast offered well-rounded, fresh assortment of items. Clean, bright atmosphere with excellent wait staff. Excellent restaurant: Calhoun's and it's right across the street.
