“Clean & Comfy for a Family”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 16, 2008

We stayed here with our 4 yr old. Standard room with 2 double beds, fireplace, internet, mini fridge. It was all we needed for an extended weekend stay. Room was clean, the beds were comfortable, fireplace was cozy. Small balcony off the back overlooking the stream. The front desk staff was very pleasant. The breakfast is provided off the front lobby with cereals, oatmeal, breads, fruits, juice, & coffee. Also offered a microwavable "biscuit" sandwich. The parking lot is smaller than average. We noticed that in the mornings, some cars had to park alongside the curbs. However if you're in a parking spot & walk to the parkway then no problem!!!!

The hotel is a block back from the main street which worked well for us. Great location to walk to everything: restaurants... try Calhouns! Yum!... and to all the shopping you could possibly want in the Gatlinburg area. Visit "The Village" which is a 20+ shopping village located in a quaint little area on the main street. Decorated beautifully for Christmas.

We will stay here again.

Hotel very well maintained, room was clean and exceeded our expectations. Location is excellent, quiet, but only one block walk to the strip, and only a couple minutes to the National Park Entrance. Staff was very friendly and helpful, private balcony with the stream running below was a nice bonus. Will stay there again.

I received the recommendation for this hotel from the Trip Advisor website. All the good reviews were accurate. It is a lovely property just off the restaurant section of the main street near the river. This enables you to get away from the noise of the main strip and enjoy the sounds of the river. Easy access to Great Smokey Mt. National Park.

All rooms have a terrace and river view. Our room was clean, airy, and had a fireplace and jacuzzi. The staff was very accommodating and delivered to us Graco two pack and plays with sheets on request when we checked in.

I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in downtown Gatlinburg. We would definitely stay there again.

We stopped in Gatlinburg, TN for two nights on our drive from Chicago to Hilton Head Island, SC. Originally we wanted the Fairfield Inn Gatlinburg North because it looked nice with the water slide and pool. They were sold of out rooms with two beds so we booked the Fairfield Inn Downtown Gatlinburg. The room was beautiful with two queen beds and a fireplace. Our balcony overlooked the mountain stream and the sky tram, Ober Gatlinburg. We wanted an outdoor pool but could not find a photo of their pool anywhere. When we arrived and saw the tiny pool off to the side, we joked about why they didn't have a photo posted of it. It ended up being a great little pool and the kids loved it. The water was warm like bath water too! We have since posted a photo of it on Trip Advisor. The desk clerk told us that we could use the pool at the Fairfield Inn North and the pool and lazy river at their sister property down the block. We never ended up going to either.
From our hotel we could walk right across the road to the Ober Gatlinburg Sky Tram and to several great restaurants. I highly recommend the Cherokee Grill. The hotel is located on River Road, one block off of the strip which was nice. We walked the strip one night. It is shops and Ripley's type museums and such.
The entrance to the Smoky Mountain National Park was just a few minutes drive down the road as well.
Breakfast was included with the hotel stay. They had Jimmy Dean's Breakfast Sandwiches that could be microwaved, English Muffins, Bagels and breads to toast, Apples and Bananas, oatmeal, cereal, coffee, milk and juices. That saved us a lot by not having to go out for breakfast. We have found the Fairfield Inns to be great stop over hotels on our road trips. We used our Marriott Points for one of the nights. The Fairfield Inn North wanted Double the number of points had we stayed there.
We looked at so many hotels on Trip Advisor and just didn't trust the no name hotels. That is why we ended up staying at a Marriott. We at least were confident that the rooms had to be up to Marriott standards. Other family members stayed across the street because the Marriott sold out and their room was VERY dated and smelled bad. Over all, we feel that we made the right choice for our stay in Gatlinburg.

I have stayed here before. They have upgraded the hotel. I like the addition of a fireplace and hot tub. I didn't use the fireplace in the summer, of course, but it looked nice and would be cozy in the winter.

Overall the decor is better. I think they need to have a bigger refrigerator in the room and they need to add a microwave. The hot tub was large but the jets were not very strong.

Beds, pillows were nice.

Several nice restraurants close by.

For those who like to fish, the water levels are down. Not enough rain lately. You can tell it by walking along the stream.

Internet access is available.

Swimming pool is too small.

Housekeeping was nice.

This was a nice hotel in Gatlinburg. Typically we stay in the mountains, but this trip was intended to be more touristy than most so we wanted to be central. The location was perfect for walking. We were very pleased to see a whirlpool in our room upon arrival since the room I booked was only supposed to offer a fireplace. The stream right off the balcony made for relaxing evenings. I did not use the pool, but did notice it wasn’t too full. The free breakfast was terrific (for continental) - multiple hot items. If I came to Gatlinburg for the same reasons again, this would be my first choice.

The room was very damp, and we noticed some mold on the ceiling. The staff were very friendly. But the noise was awful in the room. Could hear kids running above you and on the stairs. Pool was nice. There are alot of places to stay in Gatlinburg, but none of them were top of the line.
