“Won't be back.”
Reviewed April 1, 2014

There are a few reasons I would not stay here again. The most important being the very uncomfortable mattress. I woke up both mornings of our stay with a very stiff/sore back. The second reason would be the loudness factor. The walls are not insulated well and you could hear everything. When people run their jacuzzis it is a very loud noise in your room as well.
The other reason is the rude check in we received. The lady checking us in was not friendly and she was upset because when she walked into her shift the computers were down. NOT MY FAULT LADY!!!!! Don't take your frustration out on me!

We know vacation is a time of relaxation and rejuvenation, and we certainly apologize for not meeting your expectations at Old Creek Lodge. Mattresses are the single most important item inside a room, yet the single most difficult to choose for everyone. They are fairly new and a major name brand, but that doesn't help if you don't agree with its firmness/ softness level. Our service is something we are known for, and our apologies for a less then fantastic check-in experience. That's rare and unacceptable.Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience, and we would love the opportunity to have you as our guest again.

We chose this hotel after driving though Gatlinburg trying to decide which hotel we wanted to stay at. Prices were reasonable. The Staff was very friendly and the lobby was clean as was our room.

I though for the price the room was very nice. Loved the creek outside our balcony.

My only complaint is the pop or settling noises when temperatures change rapidly. We weren't able to get our two queens room for a second night, but the lady at the front desk gave a discount on a king room for our second nigh there. So we just moved down the hallway.

I would stay here again. When I looked this place up on trip advior, you can get a 10% discount, but you have to make sure you mention it.

Also, if you plan on visiting Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies, let the front desk know, they can get you a free ticket.

Overall, we were treated very well by staff and I thought the rooms we stayed in were clean and very nice for the price. And it is in a great location to walk around Gatlinburg. We left our car there and walked everywhere downtown.

Room Tip: If you are going to stay here when there are going to be rapid temperature changes, ask for a room b...

Can hear the showers and water thru the wall, toilets flushing. Black mildew above tub in corner, need to recall around tub. Staff during day very good. Room didn't look like pictures on website, but not bad. Spacious, nice fireplace, small toilet & shower area. It's not what I expected but okay. Better than lots of the places in gatlinburg though.

We stayed one night while meeting family in Gatlinburg. This is a great place to stay. Very clean and up to date unlike some of the other properties in the area. We had a nice balcony overlooking the creek, plenty of space in the room, and a gas fireplace. The location is perfect for walking around and there are plenty of restaurants close by. We didn't get to go into the National Park this visit but the hotel is close to the entrance. Very convenient.

This lodge is in a GREAT location, with nice and clean rooms, very well furnished, and amazing staff, but let me tell you why I won't be coming back...

The beds. I'm only 24 years old and MY back was killing me and I woke up multiple times throughout the night. Ruining sleep on a vacation will ruin the mood for the beginning of the day. My partner is 40 with a bad disc in his back and of course this wasn't the best for him. This is the sole reason I will not be coming back.

The spa was so-so, very loud if someone is using it on the room above you (with the attempted "jets", which pump next to no air) but no biggy really as long as they aren't doing it at 4 a.m.

The building seemed to make "settling noises" a lot due to rapid temperature changes, loud popping/cracking within the ceilings and walls. I was able to sleep thru it but during the day it was quite noticeable.

Very nice to be able to open the balcony door and hear the creek run by!

We did a impromptu trip to Gatlinburg and found this gem and so glad we did. We were able to park our car in a car port and walk everywhere, this saved the hassle of traffic, paid parking and we were covered from the snow and ice. The room was very clean, very friendly staff and the view was amazing. The price was unbelievable!! This will be our first choice each and every time we visit Gatlinburg.

Room Tip: Every room has a view so I don't see how you can go wrong here, I always ask for the top floor.

This was our third stay as we stayed 3 nights the 2nd wk in Feb taking advantage of their stay 2 night 1 free night special..This time around we chose the King Suite which i would compare to a studio apartment. Room was very clean as usual. The lodge is within walking distance. The only thing i wish this motel had was an indoor pool as we usually take our nephew and he likes to swim. We will keep staying here in the future.

Room Tip: I prefer the higher floor.
