My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary. The room was furnished nicely, but the grounds could use a little upkeep. The walls between the rooms were paper thin, and we could hear toilets flushing and showers running well into the night. It didn't make for a very romantic getaway. The location was nice, but it just wasn't what you would expect from a Marriott hotel. Probably wouldn't stay there again.

Great place to stay while in Gatlinburg. The hotel is a block off of the strip so it is quiet but close to the action! Rooms are beautiful with Hot tubs and gas fireplace. The view on the balcony is beautiful and relaxing!!

Nice little hotel with a balcony view out the side overlooking a little creek, which you will hear at night if that bothers you. Exellent location near some great restaurants: Calhoun's and Cherokee Grille and the Ober Gatlinburg tram. The price is very reasonable too.

We stayed at The Fairfield Inn from January 1st-6th. We went to enjoy sking and maybe get to view a little snow-which we did. It snowed enough to make things really pretty, but the roads were fine for travel. Our room had very comfortable beds and was all around comfortable. The room had a gas fireplace which we used continuously when we were in the room. This made the room very cozy since it was cold outside. All rooms have a view of the creek too which is very nice ,especially if you go there when you can get out on your balcony in warmer weather. Our pilot light on the fireplace was not working when we got there, but maintanence fixed it within an hour. I was afraid at first that I was going to have to "freak" because they weren't really nice at first when I called down to the front desk. I told them I was going to call the hotel manager and things turned around quickly and we truly enjoyed the rest of our stay. The continential breakfast was adaquate too. This propery is very nice; especially for the price.

Our family stayed at the Downtown Gatlinburg Fairfield Inn for several days over New Year's. We were very pleased with the room and the location. It is located one block off the Parkway, so it is convenient to everything, yet quiet and relaxing. All of the rooms overlook the creek, which was delightful even during the winter. We also enjoyed the gas fireplace in the room. After being out late in the cold, it was soothing to relax in front of the fire when we got back to the room. The rooms are tastefully decorated and the beds were very comfortable.

The continental breakfast was very good, it was just very crowded and there just wasn't enough room to eat. We had to bring the food back to the room, which really wasn't a real big deal.

Usually we stay in a cabin when we visit the Smokies, but if we do decide on a hotel again, the Fairfield will be the only place I check.

We (husband, wife, 2 kids) stayed for 3 nights for a recent Gatlinburg trip. We are Marriott rewards members, so we only stay in Marriott brands, but this one was less than our usual standards. Older hotel; needs modernizing. Breakfast area was way to small. On the positive side, the location is great. Nice balcony overlooking a stream. Probably would not stay again, because you can do better than this one.

All the reviews thus far are correct. Clean room, friendly staff, good location (one block off the main strip, just behind the Ober Gatlinburg tram station).

Parking is very limited. If the hotel were to be full you would probably be finding somewhere else to park for the night.

Lots of noise bleeds through from the other rooms. Lots of noise from the street (the hotel practically sits on top of River Road).

Internet access in the room - at times quite slow but overall good.

Probably would not stay again because of the noise.
