Glenstone Lodge
Ranked #39 of 78 Hotels in Gatlinburg

My husband and I attended a conference and our lodging was at the Glenstone in Gatlinburg. This hotel is one of the older properties in Gatlinburg and is a no thrills hotel. Like one of the other reviews stated, it's a good place to stay if you aren't going to stay in the room very much. The bathroom was very tiny. We were lucky enough to have a king bed (was reasonably comfortable), however, others in our group had rooms with two double beds. The location is great. It's a 3/10th mile walk downhill from the hotel to the main strip in Gatlinburg. Bubba Gumps Shrimp, Dicks, Mellow Mushroom and The Melting Pot are at the foot of the hill which was handy at meal time. There's a trolley stop within a stone's throw of the hotel's front door which cost 50 cents to ride. We probably won't stay here a second time, but our stay wasn't exactly horrible either.

Stayed a few nights, It's 3 blocks up a hill from parkway not a bad walk. Bubba Gump is where you turn at, it's a clean and quite place to stay it is older there are no microwave or frig in room. It's a good place to stay if you are not going to be in the room alot.

I've stayed at Glenstone 4 or 5 times as part of a conference that comes to Gatlinburg each year. The staff is always friendly and helpful and the hotel location is ideal. In May 2012 I stayed for the first time in the motel part of the hotel (in rear). The room is was very out dated and cheap looking. The tv was an old tube type and cable service was shotty. I had two co-workers who stayed in rooms near mine, and all agree that this hotel needs a make over, BAD. The rooms in front are better but still very outdated.

The hotel has a great entrance and the pools were some of the best I have seen. The rooms are dated but clean and comfortable. The resturant was only open for breakfast and it was very good. It is not free like other resturants. It is a long walk to the main street in town, but it has much less traffic than the hotels on the strip. I would say that this hotel is great if you are coming for the Civic Center events, but there are lots of hotels in Gatlinburg.

One of the best stays I have had with a large group of high school students. We had 85 teenagers and 9 adults. This hotel offered outstanding service and hospitality for the students on their senior trip. The amenities that the hotel offered were great and out students thoroughly enjoyed the awesome indoor and outdoor pool. From the initial contact several months ahead of our stay, until we checked out, the personnel were very professional and helpful. After our departure, a manager from the hotel called to inform us that a student had left a phone in the room. They secured the phone and made arrangements to ship the phone back to the student. The location is perfect with easy access to the main area of Gatlinburg which is just a few block away. While not one of the fanciest hotels in Gatlinburg (and I have stayed in many) you can't beat the accommodation for the price and location. While high school students are typically concerned about the cleanliness of a hotel/facility, the adults that accompany them are. The adults on our trip were especially impressed with the cleanliness of the rooms as well as other parts of the facility, Next time I am in Gatlinburg, I will be staying here with my family. The class of 2012 had an awesome senior trip and Glenstone Lodge was a big park of that. Thanks for a great stay. We will be staying at this hotel on the next senior trip to Gatlinburg.

This hotel has almost the best breakfast I've ever experienced in many years of traveling. The location is perfect for Civic Center events and the rooms are neat and clean.
