We arrived with 9 adults and 3 children under 3 yrs. old. Misty Mountain Lodge was ready for us when we arrived. The house was really a wonderful place to have a vacation. It was stocked well with utensils and dishes, with extra dishwasher soap. Everything worked, and was cleaned nicely. We originally had the Lumberjack Lodge reserved for a week, but unfortunately it had been forclosed on. Brandi and Kim, who manage the resort, handled the situation wonderfully. We understood that the forclosed property was beyond their control. They gave us an alternative plan, which included another 5 bedroom house for 5 days, then move our crew to two different cabins for the remainder of the stay. The last two nights were spent at the Diamond Mine and Mountain Fever. Both of these cabins were just as nice, or nicer than the 5 bedroom. They gave us a nice discount for our troubles. The resort was located close to the arts and crafts area, which feature local artists. It was situated within an easy drive to Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and the park. If we return to the Smokies for a family vacation, or are just passing through for a couple of nights, we will definitely stay at the Elk Springs Resort again.
