My husband and I just finished a one-week stay at "Ever After," a fabulous luxury cabin off the beaten path near the Gatlinburg area of Tennessee. We can't express enough how amazing our experience was from finding the cabin we wanted to the last moments of our stay... Elk Springs Resort is a first-class company and well worth investigating if you're looking for a great mountain getaway near the Great Smoky Mountains!

Elk Springs Resort's website gives a detailed look at multiple cabins, some for every size group and many with different luxury features. From our experience with "Ever After," the pictures on the website are an exact representation of what you'll get upon arrival. Once we narrowed our search for a one-bedroom cabin down to a couple of options, we simply called the helpful Elk Springs staff to ask which of our choices was the best option for a secluded property with great views. The answer was "Ever After," and the result was exactly as promised.

The cabin was relatively easy to find... "Ever After" is a part of a batch of cabins off one of the main roads headed toward downtown Gatlinburg, which is about 15 to 20 minutes away. The road leading up to "Ever After" passes by several other cabins, many of which are right next to each other. After passing by these cabins, we continued climbing to our cabin, the most secluded in the area and with a higher point of view than the others. Without reservation, we would recommend "Ever After" if you're looking for a one-bedroom cabin with absolutely fantastic views of the mountains and seclusion from nearby neighbors.

Check-in is simple... Elk Springs called with the door code, and we simply walked right in. We were completely floored from our first step onto the property. "Ever After" seems like a brand new property (The outside sign says it was "established 2012."), but even with the many, many guests the property has had, the cabin was immaculately clean, no feature seemingly worn or appearing used at all. Nothing is second-rate at the cabin... everything from the pillows and linens to the towels and bathroom floor rugs is luxurious. We continually gawked at the features of this amazing cabin through our entire stay. When we were in the incredible hot tub, we didn't want to get out of the hot tub (Even when the temperature dropped to 15 degrees and it started to snow, we still used the hot tub... It was a bit chilly getting into the tub and getting out, but it's a hot tub and completely worth using at any temperature and in any weather!). When we were in the relaxing shower (three separate entities in one huge shower room -- a removable regular showerhead on one wall, an extra rain showerhead in the ceiling, and three shower jets on the wall opposite the regular showerhead), we didn't want to get out of the shower. And when we were relaxing in the cozy bed, we didn't want to get out of the bed. There was no place in the cabin we couldn't relax. Why anyone would want to leave this cabin for more than a few hours is beyond us... We loaded up the fridge with groceries, grilled on the deck as often as we could, and only ventured out for more supplies when we absolutely needed to do so.

The website pictures and details speak for themselves. "Ever After" was a dream, and I imagine the other cabins are the same. If you're looking for a mountain getaway, do yourself a favor and explore the website, then give Elk Springs a call to make sure you get exactly what you want. You won't be sorry!

Room Tip: If you are a couple looking for privacy and great views, book "Ever After." The cabin is off the beaten path from downtown Gatlinburg, but it has some of the very best views in the area and is on a hill with no immediate neighbors. Other cabins nearby are closer to one another and may not offer as much privacy. When in doubt, call and ask which cabin has the particular features you desire!

I have stayed at this resort three times and every time is amazing! We tried another cabin once before and we can't even compare it to Elk Springs. We will never go anywhere else. It is so clean at Elk Springs and the staff is so friendly and accommodating. It. Is so luxurious and the perfect place for couples or a family. Can't wait to go back! We never want to leave when we are packing. We could live there!!

We absolutely love this cabin. The view of the mountain really is majestic. We've stayed here twice now. Plenty of space for the whole family as well as the four legged ones (which is nice since so many places don't let you bring your furry family members). Truly enjoyed our stay here and we will be back again!

We really enjoyed the Blackjack cabin, and it was great for our family. It's a bit out of the way to get anywhere, but that's part of the beauty of it all. The only thing to watch out for...pool tables in a loft area can be dangerous. We had a ball crash down onto the dining table. Other than that, checkin and out was flawless, the cabin was comfortable, and we all had a great time in 2012. We plan to be back again!

The cabin was absolutely beautiful! The only thing that disappointed me was that we couldn't stay longer. We loved that this cabin was secluded and the views were spectacular! The kids loved the theater room and the hot tub, while the adults enjoyed relaxing and grilling on the deck. The cabin was very clean, amenities were outstanding, and everyone we dealt with on the staff was extremely professional. We will definitely be coming back.
