“Peaceful and wonderful”
Reviewed July 7, 2013 via mobile

We just returned from a four day stay at Cajun Hideaway and cannot wait to go back. The booking process was flawless, with almost immediate email responses from the representatives any time I wrote. We received numerous follow up emails with driving directions etc. The day of arrival, the call came in that our cabin was ready and a door code and alarm code was supplied. We found our way easily with the precise directions (do not take the Parkway!). When we entered the cabin, we were astonished by how amazing the views were. The level you enter on has the living and kitchen area. The loft upstairs has a great pool table, a sofa and love seat and a tv with some VHS movies. The bedrooms, baths (just a shower in one bath) and a laundry room are on the lower level below the entry floor. Outside the laundry room you find the porch swing, hot tub and a wrought iron table and chairs. Outside the living area is a balcony with metal railings all the way around. On this balcony is the 2 burner gas BBQ grill, 2 wooden rockers and another wrought iron table and chairs. We brought groceries from Food City and grilled two of our three nights, enjoyed the hot tub and played pool. We also had breakfast twice in the cabin. A lot more was provided than I anticipated...little details like a new, sealed kitchen sponge and dish soap. There was a small issue with ants getting in the kitchen window into a box of candy we had on the counter. (It was from Ole Smokey Candy Kitchen, so we were disappointed we had to throw it out). It was the perfect relaxing family vacation. This was our first stay in a cabin in the Smokies and we will definitely be repeat guests at Elk Springs Resort.

We booked with Elk Springs Resort for our honeymoon! The cabin was beautiful, and it was big enough for two! We really enjoyed the hot tub, the rain shower, and pool table! They had everything we needed, and then some. We loved the location. It was far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but close enough to the attractions that we wanted to visit. We will be booking with them again!

I have to say that this company is top notch! Phone rep was really informed and made it so easy. Cabin was just as described. We stayed in Hawks Ridge cabin. Very, very clean and loads of amenities. We were traveling with little ones and found a high chair, booster seat, PacknPlay and umbrella stroller in the closet! We discovered one of the DVD players did not work so called the office, left a message and the next day it was replaced wih a new one. If you are looking for a cabin near Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, but want to be away from the crowds then this is perfect. After a day of touring it was so nice to go back to the cabin and peace and quiet. (Even with little kiddos!)

Room Tip: Really talk to the sales rep to pick a cabin in the area you want to be. Secluded or close to town...

So this was our very first stay in any type of cabin and in the Gatlinburg area. We fell in love. Absolutely incredible is the only way to describe the cabin when we first walked in. We were seriously floored! We stayed in the four bedroom cabin called Four Seasons and it has three levels, each with it's own deck. Everyone had a room and my boys loved the queen sized bunk beds, they couldn't get over it! We loved the main floors double sided deck, esp the side with the fireplace. We will be going back in the fall to get the colder weather experience. The views are awesome for each one too. It rained one evening and that screened in deck with the fireplace was perfect. There's a great little British pub called the Fox and Parrot minutes down the road. You think it's a house at first, but the food was good and the host was great. We genuinely enjoyed the experience and were sorry to have to leave. They have a great military discount too.

The cabin was clean and well kept. It has two large 55" TVs, three fireplaces, pool table, hot tub, spectacular shower, sauna, and a lovely view. The location was the perfect distance from Gatlinburg.

My wife and I had a excellent time and would definitely recommend anyone staying here. We will be returning in the future.

Our stay at the Gatehouse Condos #406 was not worth the money. The small parking lot was alongside a small pool. Our front view was of a run down motel. The condo was dusty and had cereal under the beds, dark dining area, the front bedroom was like sleeping in daylight because there was no curtain on one window facing a lighted hallway and the other window simply has sheers, the doorwall screen wouldn't stay on track, the balcony railing had peeling paint and overlooked a small stream next to the dogwalk on one side and a residential street on the other side, there were no clothes hangers and when I called the resort the person said they couldn't help me and I should contact the owners, (for clothes hangers???????) We were glad to have many outside activities to fill the day. Next time - Hampton Inn and a free breakfast!

Room Tip: Look for a clean hotel, plenty available and at a better rate with more amenities.

Hi Dennis, sorry you did not enjoy the property. We've had many guests stay in the condos, including this unit, with nothing but positive reviews. The units are newer units and well maintained with a great location and amenities. Again we apologize for your experience and we would encourage any potential guests that are concerned to call our reservations staff directly.

We maintain a trip advisor certificate of excellence based on guest feedback for the quality of our units and the quality of our service. Should a guest have a question or concern about this unit or others please contact us directly and we'd be happy to assist you. This particular unit offers new furnishings and finishes, a creek side terrace and is walking distance to downtown.

Kind regards, Elk Springs Resort

Only a 10-minute drive to downtown Gatlinburg, these cabins are in a gorgeous location. Ours was named "Summit Sanctuary" and had 3 stories with 2 master suites, pool table, hot tub, steam room, washer/dryer, theatre room and queen bunks, as well as an additional living area in the bottom level. The cabin was very clean with towels and sheets provided, as well as a full kitchen with all the amenities. We comfortably had 7 staying, but there also was a pull-out couch available. I would highly recommend Elk Springs for families or couples. It's a very private area on top of a hill, but easily accessible to all the Gatlinburg attractions.

Room Tip: Summit Sanctuary is in the midst of several other cabins. For more privacy, I'd recommend reque...
