“Excellent!”
Reviewed July 8, 2014

My wife and I had been hearing rave reviews about the Crooked Spoon the past few years; last week we finally made it in. All I can say is "Wow!" Very unique menu, high quality ingredients, great presentation, a few fun twists on classic meals, and most important....very unpretentious! Oh yeah, very reasonably priced!

“Overpriced food not so tasty”
Reviewed July 5, 2014

Came in highly recommended but left very disappointed. Restaurant is in a nice location with good interior design. The service was also fine. My biggest compliant is the food which is the most important to me! Scallop was way too salty to eat it even felt bitter. My companion's shrimp pasta was also salty but bearable by drinking lots of water. All food came in few so if you want a full meal, prepare to order appetizer, entree, and desert which will cost you around $100 for a meal of two.

“Great Food”
Reviewed June 30, 2014

We enjoyed lunch here at a recent visit to Grand Marais. We had the french onion soup -- very good and a sandwich which was also very delicious. Service was good and the waitress was helpful with menu questions. We would eat here again!

“Came highly recommended, me not so much”
Reviewed June 28, 2014

Tables were full when we arrived and they offered to let us wait at the bar but would not serve anything other than soup and appetizers at the bar. The food was very good but the service nothing to rave about. While the food was good, I thought it was a bit overpriced.

“Relaxed vibe, good local food creatively imagined”
Reviewed June 16, 2014

For lunch: local beers followed by their deviled egg, pita, olive and whitefish roe platter for our appetizer, and main course of goat cheese salad with chicken and a generous amount of large semi-dried sweet cherries. There was also enough goat cheese on the salad to satisfy every goat cheese lover. My companion also enjoyed his chicken sandwich. The rosemary popcorn was delightful. Great service. Nice location downtown Grand Marais.
