“Of course...where else in Grand Marais?”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 27, 2013

You just have to have pizza or some of their other delights if for no other reason than to get their bumper sticker. Seriously, the food is good, it's conveniently located and wonderful staff...they deliver, too.

“Doesn't look like much from the street, but is great!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 7, 2013

Great food, nice atmosphere. What else could you want?!
I'm not sure if it's the lighting or what, but from the outside it looks like more of a take out place than one you'd want to dine at. But once inside, it's clearly a nice comfortable place.
If you like pizza, you'll like this place.

“Secret...Have your Pizza brought up to the Pickled Herring!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 19, 2012

Because I have seen the place advertized so very much...we just had to try their pizza! There is a reason it has been there 35 years....great pizza with some creative toppings. But the real fun is the loft area they call the "Pickled Herring"! The waiter brought our delicious pizza up the stairs and we had lots of fun watching football and talking with all the locals!

“Decent, but super crowded”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 30, 2012

Stopped here for a quick bite to eat while in Grand Marais. Lunchtime on Saturday and it was busy! People were waiting 45 mins to an hour for a pizza with really no seating because it was so crowded. My wife and I just grabbed a quick slice of their ready pizza. It was decent, nothing spectacular but probably pretty good for way up North. Had some interesting pizzas I would have liked to try with sauerkraut and so on, but didn’t want to wait an hour. Wouldn’t say it was amazing, but was decent.

“what's so special??”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 27, 2012

So this is just any other Pizza place. The food was ok. I really don't understand the hype. Maybe since there are just few places to eat here. It is like a fast food restaurant , where you stand in a line, order, they give you a cup with nos. on it. You go sit on your table and someone brings you the food. No one comes back and asks you how the food was, and whether you need boxes etc.

We ordered thin crust pizza. If you remove 1 item from there, you can not substitute it for another one, you have to pay extra. Pizza was as any other pizza I would get for eg,at chain restaurants like Old Chicago.
The chicken wings were so dry, I had to ask for some more sauce. The girl at the register did agree and said, that it does look dry, and handed me a frozen sauce n charged me 38cents!! I asked her if she could pls warm it up for me in the microwave. The wings came with choice of ranch, which was also prepacked Marzetti.
If you are going to charge like a chef is cooking inside, then please don't hand me prepackaged foods.
