The pizza is average, the Octoberfest pizza was a bit above average as something i've never had before. The spaghetti was also average. What isn't average is the front counter youngster's that need a lesson in customer service and manner's.

...but how could one expect to get both the World's Best Donuts AND best pizza in the same majestic town? Habanero mango hot wings delivered heat seeking missiles of crispy goodness, downed 10 myself....chicken, wild rice, black n green olives and onion was our pizza choice. We were satisfied as all hell. I've had better, but hey, I eat a crapload of pizza,,, Sven and Ole's is solid!

We never miss this place when we're in the area. Went in mid-eve on a Monday & it was still half-full. Had the Hawaiian-zuh: standard ham, pineapple, etc. on the thin crust. It was served up hot, fresh, & tasty. Tasted great after a day in the car getting to Grand Marais. Go here if you like pizza, have kids that are antsy after driving all day, or are on a budget. Yeah, it'll cost a little more than your Papa John's at home, but nothing that far north in MN comes cheap & it's much more budget-friendly than most of the other (overpriced) restaurants in town. As for getting the ingredients "shipped" from Duluth...well, duh. That's the only town of any size for miles where restaurant suppliers would have a distrib ctr. Are Sven & Ole supposed to grow their own pineapples out behind the store???

It's worse than Sbarros, the dough is raw under the toppings, cheap CHEAP sausage, tastes like dog food. Not worth the $30 we spent, even with the knowledge that most of it is shipped from Duluth, it's just not worth the money.. Sydney's up the street is the place for pizza, cheaper, much better toppings. Go there instead. But if you like frozen pizza, or Sbarros, stick with that. It's so much cheaper than Sven's.
