This quaint museum has done a tremendous job really bringing the area to life. Not only the typical nature and wildlife exhibits but the people who first settled in the area were well represented. Great way to spend an hour on the Gunflint Trail.

Chik-Wauk Museum (a fairly new museum) - a must to see on the Gunflint Trail.

Small - but packed full of great information - past and present - about the Gunflint Trail. Nearly at the end of the Trail - it is definitely worth the time to stop by and explore.

In addition to the quaint little museum - are many hiking trails of all skill levels. We try to visit Chik-Wauk each time we are on the trail.

We had zero expectations when we turned on the road leading to the Nature Center. It turned out to be just lovely and very interesting. Lots of information on the flora and fauna that live in the area. There were also articles written by the current inhabitants of the area...very interesting. We especially enjoyed trying to lift the packs that the early explorers carried. Cannot imagine fording streams and walking up and down hills with that pack on my back!!

Plenty of history served up in a consumable fashion. There were activities for the children, and plenty of historical facts about the region for the adults.

Went to the end of Gun Flint and visited this small museum on the way back. It is great place to stop and learn a bit about the animals and people who settled the area. Small but great source of information. I would recommend this stop to all who travel the Gun Flint to the end of the road and back.
