Nothing fancy, but seemed clean and had decent food. They have a full bar, with drink specials quite often. There is better food around town, but this place is still an ok choice for something different.

We ordered a pizza, and the owner who was serving us, accomodated a special request. She was very nice, freindly and attentive. Our thin crust pizza had a nice crust, veggies on it looked fresh.
This place looks like it took me in the 70s though, but many places in Grand Marais look that way!
Only negative thing I could say is that I felt lot of cigarette smoke in that location. I am not sure why that would be? May be the carpet, table cloths etc are old.

Prime Rib Dinner and Walleye dinner were great. One of us asked for special accommodation for a special diet. We later met the new owners. We wished them well. Story we didn't have room for the pie she made that day!

Give this place a try! We liked it!

I am a local resident and have enjoyed seeing the changes to this traditional supper club that the new ownership has made. Menu changes are well prepared - Prime rib steak sandwich is very good. The owners are hosting various special events like a dinner theater presentation with Arrowhead Center for the Arts, and fundraiser pasta dinner once a month. This is a "supper" club with dinner only service, the attached bar is open longer hours.

When we entered the cafe there was a sign that stated "Please wait to be seated". We did and it took a long time especially since the restaurant didn't seem very busy. Once the waiter came to seat us, he wanted to jam a small round table with a rectangular table for three of us. It would have blocked the aisle right by the door. When I asked if we could sit at a small 4 top, he seemed upset about the request.
Thankfully, a different waiter assisted us and he was very good. The food was good except the Canadian walleye sandwich. Why northern Minnesota restaurants have to buy Canadian walleye, one can only guess. The fish was a very greasy breaded thing. The burgers were good, though.
