“Middle Falls Hike”
Reviewed August 12, 2013

Lovely hike, moderate degree of difficulty. Upon arriving at the fork in the trail make sure and decide to take the 7/10 of a mile loop first! Great photo ops and fabulous place to sip your water after the hike,

“Worth a visit”
Reviewed August 11, 2013

We went to Grand Portage Twice. First was thru to Canada and a day trip to visit Fort William. On the way back, we visited Pigeon Falls. During our last full day, we drove thru to catch the Ferry to Isle Royale and then went to Grand Portage State Park to see the sights before a dinner reservation at Naniboujou. We encountered a wonderful young man (Park Employee and tribal member) who welcomed us to the park as if he were welcoming guests to his home-because he was. He introduced 4 boys (and 5 adults) to the joys of June Berries. If he isn't working-someone told me his name was "Victor" (but he gave us his Ojibwae name and I cannot spell that correctly)-it is a beautiful, breath taking drive and an easy walk to see the "Highest Elevation Water Falls in MN" (and the inspiration for creating a 9 mile Portage). And, if you have boys ages 6-10, they may enjoy eating June Berries, Blue Berries, Thistle Berries, and racing one another to/from the falls.

“living history”
Reviewed August 4, 2013

We stopped here and were delighted to observe more than just signs to read about the past. There was a living history experience at the restored fort. The historical museum was well done and easy to tour.

“Rainbow over the High Falls”
Reviewed July 31, 2013

We enjoyed a picnic in the park after our hike up to the high falls, great spot in the sun. It is nice that the facility is still open for the restrooms after the park closes. Great pictures of the falls and kids.

“Easy walk”
Reviewed July 28, 2013

Very easy walk to the falls area. I didn't have time to explore the foot trails but I'm hopeful that you would be able to get closer to the falls or the river. The 2 viewing areas make for great pictures but again I wish I would have been able to get closer somehow.
