Fun to visit while exploring the area w/ a large variety of camping, hiking supplies, clothing, kitschy things and even jewelry, candles, books about the region and even some toys. The building is large, open and just plain fun to walk around. Kind of like a rustic Target in that it has a large variety of items for sale, but Target wishes it could have the atmosphere and personality of this place! Charming retail place.

This historic shop sells everything. It's an outfitter, and a gift shop, and a housewares shop, and a jewelry store, and a toy store. It sells clothes and shoes and books. It's an incredible place to browse for things you never knew you needed or wanted. The large wooden building is beautiful and full of charmingly creaking wood and a grand wooden staircase. A must see in Grand Marais. If I won a shopping spree and could choose any store in the world, it might well be this one!

Nice friendly staff. Knowledgeable about the area, trails, and the history of the area. Great selection of camping gear and supplies. Its a stop we make every time we are in Grand Marais. Nice selection of books regarding the arrowhead region and Minneasota in general and Lake Superior itself.

We always stop at Lake Superior Trading Post when we get to Grand Marais. This trip I bought a new pair of Keene shoes and some maps of the area. We were headed up the Gunflnt Trail and wanted current maps. If money were no object I could easily fill a shopping cart with clothing, household items, and gifts. Well worth an hour or two!

This store has it all! Lots of great quality clothing and many miscellaneous gifts for just about anyone on your souvenir list. I would say this is the best gift shop in the town.
