“Comfortable stay but improvements should be made.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 8, 2010

We spent three nights at this Holiday Inn. Upon our arrival we were told that our original rooms were not available, that is, two kings. However, we could still have two king rooms but they would ones set aside for the disabled. After a quick morality check we agreed.

The rooms were located near the laundry facilities. No, it was not loud but it did smell of detergent and bleach, which took away from the sleep quality. The rooms were of a good size, clean and all the furnishings in good condition. One annoying thing was that the air unit blew the curtains up, thus allowing the early morning sunshine to come through. The bathrooms were clean and were perfectly adequate. Free wi-fi was also included.

Breakfast took place in a small room. It has never been my cup of tea to eat off styrofoam but others in our group found the breakfast to be fine.

Our view on the value of the hotel reflects the fact that we had a corporate discount. Without it, I doubt we would have stayed there because the Marriot (I think it is a Marriot). down by the main road looked a lot nicer.

I would not necessarily discourage travellers from staying here. As with many Holiday Inn's you get what you pay for and it does what it says on the tin.

We left Monument Valley and stopped off here on our way to Las Vegas. The town is an ideal stop off to see Antelope Canyon and Lake Powell but offers little else.

We didn't pre-book but managed to get a good rate. The hotel was relatively empty given the time of year and the amount of folk we saw around town. The room was clean and our bed comfortable.

We struggled to think of somewhere to eat so asked the receptionist for ideas for a romantic meal. She recommended a restaurant in one of the marinas, but after a drive there the place was empty and the menu offered only a couple of uninspiring options. She also recommended two other restaurants in town but on checking both out neither were open on a Sunday...come on guys get your act together and know who is open nearby you.

Other than that a nice hotel.

We didn't expect to stay the night in Page on our way through to stay with family over Christmas, but with young kids, you just never know! We stopped at the Holiday Inn Express hoping it would be our only stop as it was getting late. The front desk staff (Brandy...sp??) was so kind patient and offered us a great rate that includes a surprisingly nice hot breakfast (kids loved the hot cinnamon rolls). We didn't even have to ask if a crib was available before she offered to bring us one and could not believe when she offered to deliver (herself!!) a fridge and micro as well! The room was clean and all was pleasant. We even signed up to become part of the Holiday Inn Express Priority Club, hoping for the same great experience in the future! This "fairly" small town is clearly a "tourist town" as it is "fairly" isolated but so beautiful (in the morning we saw what we had missed the night before) and our short stay there was so pleasant and the staff was so kind and kid-friendly, that we will be back in the warmer part of the year to experience what it has to offer and we will DEFINITELY be staying with these guys (and girls of course) again!!!
If you ever find yourself in Page, Arizona (Lake Powell as I knew it) you can't miss the Holiday Inn Exp on the main drag and you won't be disapointed!!

My room did not have a refrigerator or microwave. Who deals with small ice buckets anymore? I am a Priority member, so if there's an "upgrade", I didn't get it. The room was basic and devoid of decoration (see photo). There was a huge stain on the chair (see photo). The walls are thin and the rooms noisy. No rooms have a view of Lake Powell.

The pool was unheated and dirty. They might have well have closed it before October. There is no not tub.

The front desk staff person barely spoke a word to me as I checked in, but I did notice more polite clerks on duty later in the evening. The WiFi worked for me the first day, but I couldn't get it to work on Sunday. The breakfast is OK, but the hotel hosts tour buses which totally overwhelm the available breakfast service area......as well as the single elevator for the entire building.

The in room television was nice and had a lot of channels. The air conditioning worked well.

I would sum up this hotel with: basically they don't care because they don't have to. Tour buses have contracts which fill up these rooms. Apparently the whole town of Page is difficult to find rooms on weekends. So substandard service appears to be the norm in this town. Good luck finding a nice restraunt in Page, also!

Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this hotel to anyone. There's a buzzing noise from generators al over the hotel. We checked into room 207, when we had to change rooms because the noise was so loud, sleeping was impossible. the night manager made every effort to accommodate us, which was helpful but if there's a problem with the product, even goo service cannot make up for it.
don't stay in rooms with an 07 ending, ask for -20 plus rooms, no matter on what floor.

Page is really not the kind of town I was expecting. Though it is well known as a vacation base, it is basically a collection of hotels, restaurants and churches. Not an ounce of charm. Holiday Inn Express is a basic hotel. We had booked a prepaid room. As our travel plans had changed, we could only stay 2 nights instead of 3. As I asked for a possible refund, I was told it was not possible. Hotel staff is friendly, but does not try to go beyond the basic procedure guide, even though you're a Priority Club member. Hotel seems to be full during summer. They most probably have sold the room for the maximum price to someone else. Rooms are large and clean. Hallways look old and not so clean; carpets are worn-out. Hotel welcomes tour buses that leave quite early. Bus drivers do not care about other hotel guests and they start their engines around 6:30am to cool the buses. So you wake up in the noise. Breakfast is really basic. Again with tour buses, if you want to eat something for breakfast, better wake up early! My advice: stay in Page only if you have no other option.

This place really knows how to treat their Priority Club Members!!! We arrived around 6:30 so we didn't hold out a lot of hope for an upgrade, but before we could even ask if any were available the clerk had already assigned us to the best suite in the house. What a room! It was huge! Bigger than a lot of apartments! It was a much welcome retreat after 2 weeks on the road.
The breakfast was also very good. Much better than some we paid for.
My only complaints would be that the laundry was a bit pricey at $2.00 per cycle. It would also be nice if they had a hot tub. There really isn't a view and it is on the far end of town. If the view is important to you you might want to stay at the Lake Powell resort, but you can't beat this hotel for value. This was one of the best free nights we've had.
Overall, a great stay.
