I don't usually choose a Courtyard unless there isn't any other decent choice because they charge for breakfast, but I used points to stay here so I didn't mind so much. This is definitely one of the nicer Courtyards I've stayed at. It isn't new, but they did an excellent job on the remodel and everything looks clean and fresh. It doesn't look like they cheaped out on the refurbishing like so many places do.
The lobby and public areas are beautiful and welcoming with a southwest look to the decor. The staff at the front desk was always helpful. The rooms are standard issue Courtyard with the modular furniture you'll find everywhere, but the walls are block and the floors were very solid, so it was extremely quiet in the room. The interior rooms overlook the pool area in the center of the hotel and it was very nice with birds singing in the trees. The only downside is that the free wi-fi was VERY slow and kept cutting out.
We had dinner in the restaurant because we were too tired to go out and it was fine. The service was friendly, but they were overwhelmed so it was a bit disorganized. Breakfast was very quiet and the waitress was friendly. They only offer a buffet for breakfast and at $10.95 it was better than at other Courtyards by far. I agree with others that it should be included in the price, but overlooking that aspect, it was very good. There was a cook there to make eggs and omelets to order and the array of fresh fruit was nice in addition to the usual things you'd expect to find.
The location is about a mile outside of town surrounded by a golf course. Our room had a view of the Glen Canyon Dam and the lake behind it. It is an easy drive (or walk if you want to walk uphill) to restaurants in town.
I'd stay here again even if I had to pay for it. It really was that pleasant.
