Our family includes our 2 special needs daughter's. Our oldest uses a wheelchair for mobility. We reserved a double queen wheelchair accessible room at this hotel. I wrote and faxed the manager twice with no response, trying to assure there was adequate safe ramps, two feet of space through the room, and into the bathroom. I spoke with the manager Morena twice getting her assurance the room reserved met our requirements.
When we got to the hotel and was checking out the room, we found it was not accessible. The ramp into the room was dangerous, due to the way it was designed! We could get Julia's chair thru the door, but no further! Bathroom was not even accessible, let alone we couldn't even get her to it, due to the bed and furniture being so close together! I explained these issues, and she refused to cancel the reservation, saying she would process the charge.
Wyndham says the hotel has to deal with me, and the owner of the hotel said he is only a "silent owner" having nothing to do with the day to day. Referring me back to Travelodge & Wyndham So be warned you have no help from Wyndham if things go south at their many hotel chains! I understand the owner of this hotel also owns the Holiday Inn Express in Page.
I had stayed at this hotel for years when it was a Weston Lamplighter, but never again. Better to go a few blocks east and stay at Rodeway Inn. Same generation hotel, but remodeled with granite and other up scale items. Look out on a pool and lovely landscaped courtyard, not a parking lot. Best of all The manager cares about those who stay there, NOT THEIR JOB!
