Recommended length of visit: More than 3 hours
Owner description: Colorado River Discovery offers the most fantastic one day rafting trips anywhere on the mighty Colorado River. We provide half-day and full day tours that are perfect for the entire family (kids aged 4 and up). Departing from the scenic town of Page, Arizona, your trip will begin with an exciting and exclusive ride down the two-mile long Glen Canyon Dam access tunnel. At river level, with the dam soaring 700 feet above you, you will board a comfortable pontoon raft for your journey downstream. While on the River, you will experience one of the most dramatic stretches of river in the western United States. Your experienced guide will tell the story of the area’s soaring sandstone cliffs, crystal blue-green waters, abundant wildlife, exploration by Major John Wesley Powell and others, and the river's modern role in the Southwest’s water and power delivery system.A stop to view an impressive set of ancient petroglyphs will offer a you chance to stretch your legs and enjoy your lunch while bearing witness to the area’s former inhabitance by ancient native cultures. If you choose, you may also refresh yourself by wading in the cold, clear river. Come and visit the river that we love... You'll be inspired!

What a great experience! Seeing the natural beauty of the Glen Canyon was only topped by the siting of Condors! Thank you!

“Fabulous day!”
Reviewed November 10, 2013 via mobile

We had a lovely day on the river with our guide, Martyn. He was funny, friendly and very knowledgable. It was lovely to be in the canyon after looking down from the top many times. I would thoroughly recommend this tour to anyone.

“James/Visual Overload”
Reviewed November 10, 2013

Wow! There are both man made and natural wonders on this river.Of course, on excursions like this, your guide can make all the difference. Our guide was Brent Nageli. Get him if you can. He made the voyage friendly, informative, entertaining, exciting, and had great stories. But most of all he was genuine and his love for those canyon walls and the people who lived there for 1000's of years is what sinks in. I mean, this isn't Disneyland. When Brent plays an ancient melody on his Navajo flute, it reminds you this is a sacred place and it puts you in a reverent mood. It was all totally enjoyable, Brent just helped to get our priorities straight, which helped make it meaningful as well as memorable......

“James is Gem!”
Reviewed November 4, 2013

Right from the start, this attraction was very professionally operated. Prior to boarding the shuttle bus, there were clear instructions of the entire event. This is a slick operation. If you visit Page and fail to visit this attraction you be missing an opportunity of a lifetime.

On the journey, our guide James explained the history of the dam, pointed out various geographical features and wildlife along the route in a well educated but entertaining way. Clearly this young man is passionate about his work and very respectful of his environment.
Well done James.

On a side note, it can be cool on the trip. The trick is layering. Gloves would be recommended. The advantage to going late in the season is that there are less crowds and you will have a more personal experience.
