Owner description: Colorado River Discovery offers the most fantastic one day rafting trips anywhere on the mighty Colorado River. We provide half-day and full day tours that are perfect for the entire family (kids aged 4 and up). Departing from the scenic town of Page, Arizona, your trip will begin with an exciting and exclusive ride down the two-mile long Glen Canyon Dam access tunnel. At river level, with the dam soaring 700 feet above you, you will board a comfortable pontoon raft for your journey downstream. While on the River, you will experience one of the most dramatic stretches of river in the western United States. Your experienced guide will tell the story of the area’s soaring sandstone cliffs, crystal blue-green waters, abundant wildlife, exploration by Major John Wesley Powell and others, and the river's modern role in the Southwest’s water and power delivery system.A stop to view an impressive set of ancient petroglyphs will offer a you chance to stretch your legs and enjoy your lunch while bearing witness to the area’s former inhabitance by ancient native cultures. If you choose, you may also refresh yourself by wading in the cold, clear river. Come and visit the river that we love... You'll be inspired!

Recently I enjoyed a fabulous guided tour down the Colorado River with Brent Nageli, our guide. Not only was he very knowledgeable, he was personable and entertaining. Mr. Nageli was quite a personality and is definitely an asset to your company. Thank you Brent for a fabulous and memorable experience!

Right from the start, this attraction was very professionally operated. Prior to boarding the shuttle bus, there were clear instructions of the entire event. This is a slick operation. If you visit Page and fail to visit this attraction you be missing an opportunity of a lifetime.

On the journey, our guide James explained the history of the dam, pointed out various geographical features and wildlife along the route in a well educated but entertaining way. Clearly this young man is passionate about his work and very respectful of his environment.
Well done James.

On a side note, it can be cool on the trip. The trick is layering. Gloves would be recommended. The advantage to going late in the season is that there are less crowds and you will have a more personal experience.

We managed to get on the tour at late notice, booking online the evening before the tour but managed to get a spot on one of the three boats departing the next day.

The tour meets at the CRD store in Page before a private bus takes you to the base of the Glen Canyon Dam via a 2 mile access tunnel, an experience in itself. You then spend several hours gently drifting down the river. After several hours you reach a stop off on a sandy beach in the canyon where you have time to enjoy lunch (which the company can provide for $10) and look at some ancient Indian petroglyphs. The boat then proceeds a little further round Horseshoe Bend before motoring back up the river to the Dam. You are then taken back to the CRD store in Page by bus. The trip lasts from about 11am to 3pm, most of which is spent on the water.

Our guide was exceptional, clearly very enthusiastic about his job and happy to talk about the geology, history and wildlife in the area.

We thoroughly recommend this trip.

Brent was a delightful and entertaining guide for our Glen Canyon adventure. It was a beautiful excursion and a delightful float down the river, made better by Brent's wonderful stories. I highly recommend this as a way to see the canyon from the inside. It's both informative and enjoyable.

If you have the opportunity to do this, do it. It's great to see the canyon from the river looking up. Just like looking down into the canyon, looking up is just as awesome. Our tour guide was Rex who was equally as awesome & very informative.
