I saw people getting off buses onto raft boats from the dam visitor center. Looked calm but wasn’t sure, never been on raft in river. It was great! Candy was an excellent tour guide, learned so much from her. Answered lots of questions. Very smooth, no rapids, gorgeous views of the canyon. I would definitely recommend.

We had a great trip with Georgie. This is the first year with the new vendor doing these tours but we had a great experience. George was really knowledgeable and we loved our trip.

Booked a half day trip down the Coloradoriver, after a 10 minute trip by bus that takes you to the dock. There we went to the boat/raft of our guide Aaron. During the trip Aaron told everything about that part of the Glenn Canyon and much more. Learned a lot about the native Americans who lived there and the culture. At the end Aaron blessed the travellers with a Navajo song.

We took the half day trip from Glen Canyon Dam to Lee’s Ferry and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our guide was very knowledgeable and pleasant. The views looking up at the canyon walls from the river give you a completely different perspective. The trip to the river includes a 2 mile tunnel and the return trip from Lees Ferry is over 40 miles. Take lots of sun protection (sunscreen, hats etc)

Unfortunately, as of 2018, Colorado River Discovery have lost the contract with the National Park Service to operate river tours and it has been awarded to Wilderness River Adventures (an Aramark company) for the next 10 years. You can find their details on here and enjoy a similar experience.

I really enjoyed this! Kimberly Bighorse was an exceptional tour guide. My tour guide gave us insight in her Navajo history and being from the east we didn’t know about anything and found it very interesting! Btw going around horseshoe bend was sooo coool!!!

I have not used this company but I am trying to book a whole day river trip and the 2 phone numbers say they are disconnected. AND the website will not let me book anything! Very disappointing

What an awesome adventure. We had a fantastic guide that was knowledgeable, hilarious and really fun. We went with our two boys (ages 10 and 6) and they had an absolute blast. Our guide offered up many opportunities for people to get dunked with water from the river while in the boat - somewhat like the Gatorade buckets being dumped on the coach after a win. It was great.

We took a slow ride down the river and a fast ride back. Along the way, we stopped for a very brisk dip in the water, a bathroom break and a visit to some historic cave paintings.

note: you're unable to bring backpacks or any opaque bag. Everything must be in a clear plastic bag. Not even camera cases. The reason being that the starting point is at the base of a hydro electric dam, and the clear bags are for security.

note: you're in the sun... a lot. Lather up with sun screen and bring extra water (although they have extra water on the rafts). Water shoes are really helpful too.
