Owner description: Colorado River Discovery offers the most fantastic one day rafting trips anywhere on the mighty Colorado River. We provide half-day and full day tours that are perfect for the entire family (kids aged 4 and up). Departing from the scenic town of Page, Arizona, your trip will begin with an exciting and exclusive ride down the two-mile long Glen Canyon Dam access tunnel. At river level, with the dam soaring 700 feet above you, you will board a comfortable pontoon raft for your journey downstream. While on the River, you will experience one of the most dramatic stretches of river in the western United States. Your experienced guide will tell the story of the area’s soaring sandstone cliffs, crystal blue-green waters, abundant wildlife, exploration by Major John Wesley Powell and others, and the river's modern role in the Southwest’s water and power delivery system.A stop to view an impressive set of ancient petroglyphs will offer a you chance to stretch your legs and enjoy your lunch while bearing witness to the area’s former inhabitance by ancient native cultures. If you choose, you may also refresh yourself by wading in the cold, clear river. Come and visit the river that we love... You'll be inspired!

My friend and I did the half-day slow raft through the canyon this past weekend and it was truly an amazing experience. Our guide Brad was really knowledgable and funny, and obviously cared a lot about the river. He was well informed but also let us have nice moments of silence to soak in the beauty and enormity of our surroundings. It was all really nicely set up, and every staff member was equally friendly and thoughtful. I highly recommend!

Good:
A very nice way to spend a few hours, calmly floating down the still water of the Columbia River. Friendly, knowledgeable guide (Paul).

Bad:
We (a group of 8) had one friend drop out at the very last moment due to an unexpected family issue. We explained this to the people at the office when we came to check in, but because this violates their 48 hour cancellation policy, they refused to do anything. Too bad we didn't know about this 48 hours in advance. They didn't have a waitlist, so that seat would have been empty regardless, and yet they still insisted that they'd charge us for our missing person. Disappointing customer service, no flexibility for a large group that's bringing in plenty of ticket sales. They could have done better.

The Rivers End Cafe in Page - at the Colorado River Discovery is by fart the best food in Page. Healthy, tasty, and fresh. The panini was incredible. A nice surprise after many terrible meals in page!

What a wonderful tour! Even with a recently shattered femur and broken arm this trip was fabulous! The guide was knowledgeable, the views were breathtaking and the whole experience was fun, fun, fun! Help was offered for getting in and out of the raft when needed. This tour is for everyone, from youngsters to seniors. The raft even pulls off so that the passengers can do a very short hike to hieroglyphics (sp). This was the highlight of our trip to Arizona. When we got back to headquarters we took a short walk. I needed to get back inside headquarters to use the restroom which was locked up for the day. They even unlocked the door and let you in. Extremely professional and friendly!!
