Visited March 2019 when they were in the middle of building the parking lot and had to hike a a pretty steep sandy hill to get to the viewpoint. A bit crowded even at 9 in the morning and only kept getting busier as the tour buses started to arrive.

But that being said..it really is a wonderful view of the river. I think it would be worth a look for someone staying or passing through Page.

Horseshoe Bend is a very special place. Super impressive in its scale and majesty. I've been there a few times. The last time i was there the wind was so strong it was a bit scary...

This place is just a tourist trap and a rip-off too.

For $10 you get .... wait for it .... a parking lot. No visitor centre, no rest rooms, just the most awful toilets like you get in parks in the middle of nowhere – it’s 5 miles from Page! They’ve been charging only for the past couple of months, so who owns the land? Can the town or the government just find beautiful places people want to see, put up a parking lot and little else, charge an entrance fee and spread the word so it’s overrun with tour groups ($100 per bus anyone!), earning even more money? Yes we can!

There are hilarious signs everywhere presumably trying to deflect criticism of the new charges by promising a visitor centre by April this year. Well they missed that one and there were no signs of any building work. Good that they sorted out the entry gate on time so they could take our money.

All this to see a bend in a river. There are three of them at Goosenecks Park and that costs $5! Go there or a few miles up the road to Navajo Bridge and Lees Ferry.

The view itself is splendid of course though overrun with tour buses from the land of umbrellas in the sunshine and selfie sticks. It’s clearly on itineraries, so be ready to be elbowed out of the way if you just want to admire the view.

Other than that, we really enjoyed it ......

See this site at sunset. You will spend about 30-45 minutes there and it is so worth it! There is a $10 charge to park the car and about a 1/2 mile easy hike.

In order to see this yourself, you need to walk up a sand hill to the top and then walked down on the sand again, took 15-20 minutes one way. Some area has now installed fence as people fallen down before. It is nice but depends on if you would like to spent that type of energy, do not forget Antelope Canyon is about ten minutes away, and it requires a lot of energy to walk in there. Remember to carry. Washroom in there was called five stars washroom when compared to others, no fresh, no handwash.
