Be aware that Navajo started to charge for parking on the spot and there is (as per my knowledge) no alternative (free) parking....although HSB is a part on NPS....??!!

Absolute must see its extraordinarily beautiful but, get there early before all the tourist buses arrive and take a quiet 10min to take it all in.

Hundreds of tourists and parking now costs money but still well worth visiting with a absolutely fantastic view!

We brought our daughter here so that we could take pictures of her in dance wear. The hike can be strenuous if you're not in shape, but for most it shouldn't be a problem. Looked like they are working to add more paved walkway to make it even easier. The pictures we got here will be a family treasure for many years to come. I could have stayed there for hours. We arrived before sunrise, were there alone for a short time, then a bus of rude foreign visitors arrived which prompted our early departure. I was SURE one of them was going to fall to their death because of the risky behavior I witnessed near the edge. BE CAREFUL when you go here. It's beautiful, but can be dangerous if you're foolish.

When you park it looks like the view is at the top of the hill you start climbing, but really it is much farther. There is a lot of walking up and down in sand. Bring your backpack with some cool waters.

It is beautiful and totally worth it, but it is easy to get heat exhaustion out in the sand. There is almost no shade.
