Owner description: Horseshoe Bend is the intimate Grand Canyon experience (although technically located in Glen Canyon.) The trailhead to this 3/4 mile hike is located just outside of Page, Arizona. It overlooks one of the most spectacular views on the Colorado River, 4 miles south of the Glen Canyon Dam, and 7 miles north of mile zero of the Grand Canyon.

Wow, this is by far the most spectacular view you've ever seen. I've been to the grand canyon and it is beautiful but Horseshoe bend is really one of the world wonders. First off it is free, no entrance fence or tour needed. You will book a hotel in the town of "Page" and can make a day trip to both Horseshoe bend and Glen Canyon Dam which is only 4 miles away. This incredible natural vista of the mountain and The Colorado River is accessible to people of all hiking skills and it is a short walk from the parking lot to the top of this breathtaking cliff.

Except for the large crowds, it's worth the small hike. The view is fantastic. The hike is a bit steep on way back - if over 50 years of age and don't hike much, take your time. Parking area is not too large so plan accordingly - recommend mornings between 7-10 a.m.

I had thought the viewing area was closer to the road but the 3/4 mike walk wasn’t all that hard if you are in decent shape. There’s no shade so bring water. It was super windy when I went so you might want to bring something to protect your face from blowing sand. It’s painful. The view is spectacular but there’s currently no railing which is nice but also scary. People get super close to get good pics and it’s a little unsettling how easy it would be to fall especially with the strong winds the day I was there. They are building a viewing area which will be a more safe way to view it.

You can park free at this tourist spot. It is about a 10-15 min walk from the car park and not a hard walk at all.

Glad I've seen it in person. It's exactly what you'd think and see in pictures. I'm excited for their new pavilion areas which will be excellent for shade!

Please please please bring water in a reusable bottle.
