Owner description: Horseshoe Bend is the intimate Grand Canyon experience (although technically located in Glen Canyon.) The trailhead to this 3/4 mile hike is located just outside of Page, Arizona. It overlooks one of the most spectacular views on the Colorado River, 4 miles south of the Glen Canyon Dam, and 7 miles north of mile zero of the Grand Canyon.

“A breathtaking view of nature”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 26, 2013

At original plan, we just visit south rim of Grand Canyon. After a research at internet, we decide not to miss this top 1 attraction in page, AZ. We drove 5 hours from Phoenix, passed Flagstaff, get Page around 6pm, caught the sunset at horseshoe band on August 14. The view was breathtaking and worth 5 hrs drive.

“Nature as it should be - Free”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 24, 2013

Horseshoe Bend is easily accessible off of 89 just south of Page, AZ. At the end of an easy half-mile hike you are rewarded with breathtaking views of this magnificent 180-degree bend of the Colorado river. I think it's worth it to visit 2 different times of the day -- before noon with the sun at your back; and again in the evening to take in the sunset.

“A nice short hike; a rewarding, if scary view”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 21, 2013

For a nice hike in a desert environment, this is a good short one. Perfectly fine for novice "hikers." There are no cliffsides to fall off of while walking. On the other hand, the walk ends in a cliff with no rails, walls, nada. And there are signs warning you about the potential instability of the large rocks on the cliff edge. But oh are you rewarded with a picture perfect view of Horseshoe Bend. Completely worth the minimal effort required to get here. Just don't forget your camera in the car!

“Free, Small & Awesome Hike”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 21, 2013

People come from all over the world to see Horseshoe Bend. Being a free, small hike- you can't go wrong. It is pretty awesome in all senses of the word. Unless you're physically unable to get down there-- there's no reason you shouldn't go to Horseshoe Bend.

“You stand in awe”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 20, 2013

You park your car on the lot, ascend a short sandy hill and descend over red sandstone towards the bend in the Colorado River. When the view finally opens up, you simply stand there overwhelmed. Very very beautiful, easily lives up to the best viewpoints in the Grand Canyon National Park!
