If you’re going to take pictures (which most people do), then first thing in the morning probably isn’t the best as there will be a lot of shadowing (you’ll have to play around with the exposure on your phone). However, be prepared for larger crowds at noon and at sunset. We went at 8:30am before driving up to Utah; the sun wasn’t in a great position (shadowing covering the bottom of the horseshoe and sun was directly in our eyes for photos), but the crowd of people was bareable.

when we visited in October, it was busy but not overcrowded. we found parking fairly easily in the lot. the hike to HB is a gentle downhill walk of about 25 minutes. But remember, that means its a uphill slope on the walk back, which can be tiring esp if the weather is warm, so bring water with you. there is a fenced lookout area that is in the ideal spot for looking over the ben of the colorado river. however to either side of this area, there are no guard rails, and it is a shear drop of 1200ft, so using good judgement and caution is a must while enjoying this natural beauty.
while parking and the area are free, i can see this being monetized in some way in the not too distant future.

Just go! It’s a beautiful photo op that reminds you how incredibly beautiful and majestic this country is. Parking is easy. No entry fee.

One of the must visit locations while in Page, it’s also free. There is a parking area just off the main road and it takes about 10-15mins over pretty flat terrain to reach the cliff edge. I must say it looks bigger than I expected and you can walk around the bend to get slightly different views but the central portion which has a barricaded platform is about the best and only way to get really close to the edge without endangering yourself, especially if you want to take photos from a tripod. We got there with plenty of time for sunset and an unforgettable experience.

A not to miss site while staying or driving through Page, AZ. Right off the highway, a short walk back to the cliffs edge to take in this beautiful site that has been created over time in the beautiful stone surrounding this area.

We went early morning and luckily there was hardly anyone there. We did have a shadow but thats ok rather that than crowds. Def worth the walk down which is fairly easy and there are restrooms in parking lot.

It takes a short while to get to the look out, but worth the walk. The views are wonderful, just can't understand why so many people get so close to the edge.

It is as beautiful and magnificent as you expected. But no need to book a tour for this one. Just drive your car into the parking lot, walk the 3/4 of mile to the rim and look. In summer, it is going to be deadly hot, so take water, hat and be careful. I'd say it is better to go outside the summer heat. In November it was quite pleasant. If you are into photography, bear in mind that the absolute sunrise and sunset, will have most of the canyon in darkness. My pictures were about 1 hour from sunset, and I think that 2 hours before, would have been better.
