It is our second time in the area. Therefore, we remembered that 5 years ago, we decided to ate at this charming pizzeria. We went back there, very hopeful and optimistic. We were approximately five groups arriving at the same time (7:30PM) so the staff quickly lost control.
First of all, the menu was looking good and we placed our order.
Know already that to simply take our order, it took 15-20min for the waitress.
Whatever, let’s go on.
20 mins pass by, we’re starting to starve.
30...40...50...
is this a hidden camera prank?
we finally got our pizzas after +1hour waiting...
The pizzas weren’t actually bad tasting but they weren’t great neither.
« average » i’d say.
We are not going back there, the wait was really long and in the end, our meal wasn’t as delicious as we thought it would be.
The atmosphere was nice though.

Just like the title says, interesting venue. The service was extremely slow. The pizza was average at best. The old worn out shoe on one air vent and a menu on another (on the floor) was an interesting and unwanted sight.

Very slow (we stopped watching the time, waited well over an hour for two pizzas), and service was of good intentions but limited skills. Luckily pizza quality was acceptable, but we heard people on another table complaining about the pasta and they did not have to pay for it in the end... a pity because it was recommended in our guide, being also atypical in an ancient river boat.

I'm not gonna say a lot about the pizza, it is "average", service is "average" and everything makes the Canyon King just a quick choice after a long day.
I just wanna spend few words about Gary, the owner.
He's one of a kind!
We had the chance of meeting him and visit his museum headquarter on the second floor of the "boat" and we had been absolutely captivated by his charm and kindness.
A beautiful soul that made the evening special deserves all my appreciation and a positive review.

Nice friendly staff and it was fun to eat inside an old riverboat. But the service was slow and we waited at least 45 minutes for an average pizza. They had no gluten free options except for salads.
