If you get the chance to learn about and tour the Glen Canyon Dam then I recommend it. We really enjoyed our time there and learning about how the area states agreed to control use of the Colorado River with the start of the Hoover Dam (if I remember all my facts correctly). Give yourself a 1-3 hours to stop by and enjoy this national recreation area.

We had a one hour trip which was really scenic and allowed us to get into some of the more inaccessible spots. Quite expensive though for just an hour.

We stayed two nights at the Wahweap Marina at Glen Canyon Dam. The Marina, in addition to boating, offers a campground, gift shop, restaurant and very nice hotel rooms plus two nice swimming pools with hot tubs. Took the boat tour on lake Powell to Rainbow bridge the largest natural bridge in the world some 370 feet of span. The restaurant and bar were excellent. Close to the Glen Canyon dam and Antelope Canyon which is a must see experience just inside the Navaho Nation.

The canyon is beautiful. We went on the dam tour for $5/person. It was ok. The area is great if you have a boat. We didn't have a boat so what we could do was limited.

I had a wonderful experience visiting the Glen Canyon Dam & the Glen Canyon Bridge with a tour group. They have a very educational showroom & exhibits about the history of Glen Canyon Dam & how it works. Our tour group watched a movie about the Dam. Then there was a private tour guide that works at Glen Canyon Dam that gave us a tour & showed us how the Dam works. The private tour guide brought us to a place with nice views of the Glen canyon bridge & Glen canyon Dam & mountain views all around & also showed us some equipments that they used to make the Dam work. It was a great experience.
