“Just for boats”
Reviewed October 9, 2012

It's a boat lovers paradise.

But if you're like me and not really into boats then once you have seen the views there is nothing else to do but drink in the resort hotel bar or visit their tourist shop.

We did hire a boat for 4 hours but after 3 hrs we were bored so we returned the boat early .

Wwe left there on the Saturday of Labour day weekend and I think the lake would have been packed with boats going by the number of boats we saw heading towards the lake as we drove of towards our next destination.

“Fun on the water”
Reviewed October 6, 2012

This area is massive. There is the opportunity to relax on a beach. Take boat trips out onto the massive Lake Powell and explore the canyons by boat. I wasn't able to hire a houseboat but this is also a possibility and I am sure that there is sufficient there to keep you exploring. Well maintained barbecues are readily available if a picnic is our preference.

“Excellent interpretive center; grandeur views”
Reviewed October 6, 2012

accessible and safe for children, handicapped. The grandeur will tweak your interest in geology and manmade super structures like this dam. You should have seen this canyon before it was flooded---we did and it was more spectacular in colored layers than the Grand Canyon.

“Boat tour of Antelope Canyon from the water”
Reviewed October 2, 2012

I feel as if we have Antelope Canyon covered in its entirety. We learned that there is more coastline on Lake Powell than on the entire California Pacific coast. There are several excursions offered from Antelope Point which is a very nice area on the lake and we were fortunate to get a tour 5 minutes before it left the marina. I wish we'd had enough time to take the tour to Rainbow bridge, next time!

“Worth taking time for a side trip”
Reviewed September 26, 2012

This area, Glen Canyon Reservoir, is beautiful. There are many scenic stops and lots of benches and picnic areas (in addition to boat launch areas) that are available for your use. It is a fee area but since I have my $10 senior park pass, it is free. This time of year is quiet and with the usually perfect weather, you will enjoy the beauty and serenity.
