“Unbelievable it´s natural”
Reviewed October 27, 2013

Most of the people visit the rainbow bridge by boat. It´s a long, expensive but very nice trip to get there. You do not have much time at the bridge so you have to hurry a bit.
If you see the bridge you cannot imagine it´s a natural bridge. It looks like a solid, human construction. But it IS natural. The afternoon is the best time to take photographs. With the early trip the sun is shining directly in your face when admiring the bridge. You cannot pass the bridge because it´s a sacred place to the Navajo. You actually can but it´s very impolite. So don´t do this!

“A True Rainbow in a clear, blue sky”
Reviewed October 10, 2013

It was tough to get to. Mind you, not as tough as for those who had to hike days to get there in the last millenium, but still a long day. A spiratual experience once we arrived. It used to be that the boats traveled all the way to the monument when the water was higher. Still, an awe striking sight once you take the short hike up to it. You can feel the spirits that inspired the Native Americans who worshiped it. Plenty of picture opportunities, too if you don't take the big tour boat. Well worth the trip.

“Long Boat Ride But Worth It!!!!”
Reviewed October 2, 2013

THe boat ride is three hours each way. But, while on the boat you can listen to a narration about Lake Powell and the surronding area. You can also chat with the captain and look at the scenery. Once you arrive there is a short hike, mostly flat and in the sun, but fairly easy. You do not have to hike the whole trail to see the main attraction: Rainbow Bridge. The bridge is gorgeous and there is a ranger on hand to answer questions and explain. Overall, it is a good idea to ring entertainment with you and most importantly water. They have water on board but it is a good idea to bring your own.

“Path to it washed out the morning we got there”
Reviewed October 1, 2013

The entire focus of our trip was to see this, We were told the path to it was washed out 20 minutes before we arrived by the Lake Powell Resort Tour Boat. The National Park Ranger would not even let us peek at it.

“Beautiful, but a long boat ride”
Reviewed September 14, 2013

It is gorgeous, but be prepared for a long (but beautiful) boat ride across the lake. Check the reservation web site for actual conditions. Our trip was 7 1/2 hours because of low water levels - if levels are low, one shortcut might be closed for boats (which adds a hour each way), and the walk to the arch from the boat dock takes longer.
