“Path to it washed out the morning we got there”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 1, 2013

The entire focus of our trip was to see this, We were told the path to it was washed out 20 minutes before we arrived by the Lake Powell Resort Tour Boat. The National Park Ranger would not even let us peek at it.

“Beautiful, but a long boat ride”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 14, 2013

It is gorgeous, but be prepared for a long (but beautiful) boat ride across the lake. Check the reservation web site for actual conditions. Our trip was 7 1/2 hours because of low water levels - if levels are low, one shortcut might be closed for boats (which adds a hour each way), and the walk to the arch from the boat dock takes longer.

“Beautiful Natural Bridge”

Long ride by boat and a short hike of a little over a mile takes you to a famous and beautiful natural bridge on the shore of Lake Powell.

“Just a big stone arch”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 14, 2013

I believe I enjoyed the 3 hour (one way) boat ride to the arch more than the destination itself. Views on the lake were great. We took the formal boat tour from the Lake Powell Resort. Large boat with upper and lower deck seating. The boat was quieter on the upper deck, but you were subject to the weather of the moment. Engine noise in the lower deck seating area. Glad to reach the final destination. Don't get me wrong, Rainbow Bridge was great, but I found Arches National Park to have greater views and variety.

“Awesome little hike”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 8, 2013

Getting here from our boat was a nice little 1 1/4 mile hike, nothing too strenuous but the heat will get you so bring water. I would also wear something better than flip flops, I think the walk would have be tough in flimsy shoes but it's not an intense hike by any means. When you get there they have guides to talk about the Monument, which is cool to learn about how they believe it was created. Definitely a "must see"!
