“Photographer dream”
Reviewed September 14, 2013

Fun guided trip through a semi covered slot canyon with great opportunities for photos. The canyon is rather small in size for this area but attacts large numbers of visitors despite being a bit pricey. During our visit the guides from the various companies showed cooperation with one another and tried to work together to make this a good experience for all. A few of the visitors had some problems following directions from the guides, but it seemed that they were in awe of the environs and phototaking rather than being uncooperative. Thus at times they seemed to lag and got into the photo range of the next group. Our guide, Lynette, went out of her to assist with photos with a great number of helpful suggestions. Mid day is recommended for light rays in the canyon but it offers a good experience at other times as well. A four wheel vehicle is required to ride to the canyon entrance. The ride is bumpy and could be a bit unpleasant for those with back problems. However, the experience was well worth the time.

“Overcrowded and bossed around”
Reviewed September 13, 2013

The canyon itself is very beautiful, the experience of visiting is one of the worst things ever. There is no consideration given to the numbers of people allowed into the canyon at any one time and it is being used to generate the maximum revenue possible. However the worst aspect is that you are continually being shouted at and told to keep moving as though you are on a conveyer belt. The tour company seem to think that people only want to take photos and that you are not interested in actually looking at the canyon, the formation and the history. Our tour guide was short tempered and not interested in making it a pleasant experience. More thought had been put into the notice asking for gratuities in 10 different languages than making the experience memorable.

“Well worth the price.”

We toured the Upper Antelope Canyon with Stan Goodman as our guide. He was extremely helpful in positioning us to get the best and most unusual photographs of this beautiful canyon. We highly recommend this tour and especially Stan as guide.

“Good not great”

$35 per person is a good price, but riding in the back of a pickup at 65 MPH down the highway is not much fun. And 14 people in the back is not very comfortable. Our guide Rich was excellent. Fantastic photos etc.

“Incredible formations”

Get reservations in high season. Tour as crowded but very visually pleasing. If you can go with a small group its best. Less foot traffic to contend with.
