“Nice location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 25, 2014

Hotel with definitely a perfect Location at the Lake Powell. The Hotel itself is average and would Need some refusbishment. Breakfast was terrible or better not-existent: there is no Restaurant in the Hotel serving breakfast only a small Kiosk. And there everything was sold out at 08:30 in the morning! Very unpractical especially for a Hotel which is far away from everything.

Room Tip: Rooms with seaview are not much more expensive.

Like the previous review we was also coming from the Grand Canyon, howver after the many calls from the kids of are we there yet!! the Sat Nav shwing about 20 minutes to go we then was faced with the road closed in front of us, we then had to go on a diversion 89a which added another 3 hours to the trip, not only that they have built a new road some of which is just a dirt track but nobody has had the good sense to but a sign up!! that is route 89T which we only found out when we got to the hotel, now you might think what does this have to do with the hotel? well having booked and paid 6 months before I would have thought they could have drop me an email to advise the situation? yet they have a small note under their directions but as it has been closed for months and looks set to be closed long term surley they could have let us know so we could have made alternatives arrangements.
When did get there we planned on doing a boat trip, but was informed they was all closed for our stay so the whole point of going was a complete waste of our time and money!
Rooms very small and tired compared to the other places we had stay, no breakfast included and nothing much available.
We had an evening meal as there was nowhere else to eat, it was at best OK.
The girl behind the bar was nice but the reception girl did not seem to understand why we was less than pleased being sent on a 3 hour detour to stay where everything was closed!!!!!!

Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to comment about your stay with us. Please note every confirmation sent to our guests from our reservations office has a detailed message noting the closure of the RT 89 and directions to the bypass RT 89T. Plus we have the same information on our website. Unfortunately we do not know how long this closure will take place, but once it is back open we would supply the proper information to our guests so there would be no inconvenience to our guests traveling from out of town. As for limited operations during the winter season, we do have boat trips available on certain days of the week which is also noted on our website. Additionally, we do have breakfast available at our coffee bar within the lodge, offering items such as cereals, yogurt parfaits, and made to order hot sandwiches. Lastly, We are in the process of updating our rooms with new amenities such as larger LED TV's and Keurig coffee machines just to name a few items. Thank you again for your feedback, we could not make certain improvements without our guests commenting on the experience they had with us. Feel free to contact me if you have any further comments - 928 645 2433. Sincerely, Jason GM

We chose to stay at the Resort as part of a tour of the Grand Canyon circle and stayed for two nights in October 2013. We arrived at the resort after dark following a long drive from the Grand Canyon West area and were quickly seen at reception and given a room. We were too late to eat a full meal so made our way to the bar and was served by a very helpful member of staff who suggested some light choices from the bar which we agreed to and was not disappointed - it was very good and we felt much relaxed after the food and a drink.
The resort has its own gas station which was very useful as we were low on gas and made use of it - it was not overpriced.
Overall the staff were very good but the room whilst comfortable perhaps could have done with a fresh coat of paint. We ate in the restaurant the second evening and whilst it was not cheap the quality and service were good but we recommend that you book a table as it is very busy as was breakfast.
The views around the resort are spectacular and it made for very good stay and it was an ideal stopover. As with most resorts/canyons in that area there was a non refundable entrance fee but in some instances they are transferable.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the Lake not the car park

Spent 2 nights here on 26th and 27th of December and had overall a wonderful time. The resort was very empty so not all facilities were open which is something the resort could address by using their web site a little better to inform guests exactly what is open and shut. The room was superb and the service in the restaurant is excellent as is the food. Reception staff could be a little more friendly but this did not impact on our stay. I would certainly recommend this resort but guess it would be incredibly busy in the peak season.

I stayed at the Lake Powell Resort in November
It's an excellent location to explore Lake Powell.
The motel type accommodation is friendly ,clean and has internet access.

I used the in-house restaurant for breakfast - it was good.
The rooms were clean with a desk and average comfortable beds.

We stayed at the Resort. The room was comfortable with a Keurig Machine for coffee. There is almost no Wi Fi in the rooms which makes it difficult for travelers to browse although they have a free Wi Fi in the lobby and reception areas.

We stayed two nights at the end of September 2013.
The position and views out over the lake are stunning; what a sunset!!
The public areas are very busy with a big turn-around of guests on short stays. The restaurant very well done, with all tables having a view out of the enormous windows across the lake. Food both at dinner and breakfast was very good, with friendly, helpful staff.

The standard bedrooms are small and they and the access corridors are tired, in need of redecoration and refurbishment.
