“Location is super convenient if you plan to spend time on Lake Powell”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 1, 2013

We picked this spot so we could experience Lake Powell, both in terms of having a nice view from our room as well as convenience to rent a boat and get out on the lake. It was a perfect spot for that!

If you are going here looking for a first class resort, you'll probably be disappointed. But if you are looking for a clean place to hang your hat and be at the lake this is a great choice. It has a lot of boaters, so there are lots of boats and trailers running around. It sits right next to one of two marinas in the area, so there's lots of activity and people looking to have fun. The lobby area is nice, with a nice gift shop, a coffee stand, a bar area that serves light fare, and a full restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are two pools and a hot tub, which were a little dirty while we were there, but I think it was b/c of the rare sandstorm that hit the day we arrived.

We stayed in a second floor view a lake view, which was very nice. The room was tight for 4 of us, but it worked out and we weren't looking for much more than this. One very odd thing was no elevators, at least in building 8. So if that's an issue then book on the first floor.

Room Tip: Specify whether you want 1st or top floor, and also if you want to be close to (or far away from) th...

Very friendly and efficient staff in a good standard level hotel with the best location in Lake Powell.
The only hotel with boat trips on the Lake leaving from the property, so location is perfect. We were made to feel very welcome and enjoyed our one night stay.

First - the water. The boat rental marina within the resort is efficient and well run. One of the best I have seen. You can rent whatever you like (Houseboat, Sea-Doo, runabout, canoe, paddleboard) or simply take one of the lake cruises. They have food, ice, sunscreen, water toys right there at the marina. We rented a 20' runabout that had a built in cooler. Perfect size for 6 people on the lake.

Next, the room. Others have spoken about the rooms being mediocre. I would agree. We were in an updated one and it had "motel" written all over it. Old electronics, no electrical outlets, glacial wifi speeds. If this weren't in a perfect location, it would only rate a 2 star on Trip Advisor.

Finally, load up at the WalMart in Page (south on 89) to stock up your fridge and you can pick off the gorgeous view of Horseshoe Bend (2 minutes further South on 89) while you are down that way.

Room Tip: Definitely get a lake or marina view room. Ask for one of the updated ones. Ask for second floor so...

We recently spent 2 nights at the Lake Powell Resort and Marina.. Our stay was in the middle of our 8 day tour from Phoenix to Las Vegas.. We had just spent 4 days exploring Sedona and the Grand Canyon so the stop at Lake Powell was a welcome break. The Resort itself is very attractive and views beautiful, and serene. We checked in to a Lakeview room with a balcony, and were impressed with the ambiance and comfort the room afforded. We had a terrific meal at the Rainbow Room then spent the rest of the warm evening at the pools.. Unfortunately the hot tub jets were not working but we still enjoyed the water and peace..we later visited the smaller pool to enjoy the fire pit. We tooked a morning cruise of the Lower Antelope Canyon..this was a marvelous trip and although I generally avoid things like this I highly recommend the river cruise... The rest of the day we spent at the pool..dinner at the Grill and sunset at the nearby Wahweap Overlook before returning to the pools... We departed for Zion Ational Park early on our final morning after our 2nd visit to the Rainbow Room for a tasty, though a tad expensive breakfast buffet.. I would gladly revisit the Lake Powell Resort again.

Room Tip: Get a Marina view room...Go early to the Wahweap Overlook for sunset for the best views.

We rented a houseboat on Lake Powell with another family and stayed at Lake Powell Resort the night before our houseboat trip. Having read some of the less-than-stellar reviews, our expectations were not very high, but decided the proximity to the marina was worth it. Boy, were we pleasantly surprised! We really enjoyed this hotel. There are plenty of amenities to meet our needs: pools, coffee shop, restaurants, fitness center, and walking paths. The views of Lake Powell are spectacular. Our room met our needs, though we really didn't spend much time in the room - the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was spacious and updated, and there was a Keurig coffeemaker in the room. We enjoyed ourselves so much that first day, in fact, that we cancelled our post-houseboat plans and opted instead to spend three more nights at Lake Powell Resort. Another item of note is that we found the prices at the restaurants and pool bar to be very reasonable. Yes, the place was pretty busy, but I thought the staff did a great job of meeting our needs and it never felt like it was so busy that our enjoyment was compromised in any way.

Room Tip: Request a lake view room - they were sold out during our stay so we didn't have one, but the vie...

So we paid $225/ night for 2 queen beds/lake view in June. Overall I had a great time. After driving past the other hotel options in page ( not going in), I don't think I would ave been as happy elsewhere. You are paying for the views. The hotel rooms, as stated in other reviews are ok at best. We had no problems with wi if, although we did have to keep reconnecting. The lighting in the bathroom is minimal. There were chunks of wood missing from our vanity. The hot tub in the pool area was full of flies/bugs. The restaurants ( we ate at the two in the lobby area) were ok. Again, you are paying more for the views. We did go down to the beach area for a few hours. It was nice, but there was a dead fish on the beach. So, a mix of good and bad. They could make this place amazing with a few updates.

Room Tip: Building 5 would be my choice if you can request. You'd be close to the lobby, but not attached...
