Planned on going to Lower Antelope so went early morning August 10th and we were told it was closed due to flooding so headed right over to Upper Antelope Canyon (across road).  Seemed very disorganized but bottom line, they got us in first tour of the morning and Dominque as a guide did a terrific job!  Bring cash and be aware the Navajo Park entrance fee of $6 is per person, not per car.  This is in addition to fee for Antelope Canyon tour.

My husband complained the whole long ride from South Rim of Grand Canyon to Page but after the Upper Antelope Canyon tour, not a peep - very impressive and worth every penny - it's amazing!  The bumpy ride from the entrance to the canyon was part of the fun to get to the slot canyon.

I visited both upper and lower and recommend the lower canyon. The upper is narrow at the top; the lower is narrow at the bottom, so visibility (light) is better and it "feels" smaller. The upper requires a very rough 1/4 mile trip by truck; you walk only a short ways to the lower canyon. The upper is (relatively) expensive and should be reserved ahead of time; the lower is $20 (when I went) and is available throughout the day with no reservations. That said, I'd recommend an early or later time so there are less people in your group, although it will likely be less than the upper canyon regardless of the time you pick. The number of tourists is also worse in the upper because you must return the way you came in; the lower is one-way traffic. This said, you must climb down several sets of stairs in the lower and up a long stairway to get out again.

This hole tourist nap is not worth the money at any time.the light beams can only be Seen preety in may. The Tour guides a very unpolite and always keep you in a rush and the hundreads of people in this Barrow Canyon will squeeze you up.
The Canyon is Quote nice, but there are many Mord slot Canyons which are not AS easy to access but similar pretty.
Never again!!!
Mit recommended at all!!!

This years trip (my third) to Antelope Canyon was a disaster. There seemed to be three times as many tourists, mostly foreign. We were nearly trampled by different groups coming and going. They were taking flash photos despited being repeatedly warned not to. We seemed to never to be out of site of people so they were walking into timed exposures and their guides were using laser pointers to lead their tours despite ruining photos. None of the guides played the flute this year. I included an example photo of a 6 second exposure. We used Chief Tsosie's company but this was not his fault as all companies tour together. This years tour was a total waste of time and money from a photography standpoint.

Absolutely fantastic pre booked visit and wasn't dissappointed. Very fortunate the trip went ahead as heavy rain had flooded and closed Antelope Canyon two days previous. Had seen some of the pictures online, however the real thing is always better. Colours, shapes, silhouettes, imagination combined with some local humour from the guide makes this a trip you shouldn't miss. Wish we could have stayed a bit longer. Quite busy but organised. Hoping I got a good photo so a huge print will be going on my wall!!
