“Heart of the Canyon”

We took a 10:30am tour with Jullian and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. I love photography, but have a simple point and shoot. Jullian showed us the best places to take photos, helped us mimic famous scenic photos and took photos of us a couple. He is very knowledgable on the area and Navajo culture, but didn't overwhelm us with information. I would certainly recommend this company and Jullian in particular.

“Extraordinary experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 6, 2014

Antelope slot canyon tours are well organized, insightful and very unique.
While we were wondering among extraordinary shapes and colors we recognized faces, animals and objects carved artistically by nature. Our late morning tour revealed amazing views while the moving light was surprising us with more and more treasures.
Our guide was very helpful in guiding us when and how to the the best photographs, how to look at the carved walls and see the enormous variety of different shapes. He helped us to understand the history and origin of the canyon.
The only disadvantage is the huge crowd following you in the canyon so you don't have peaceful and quiet moments to contemplate the beauty of this wonder.
It is amazing place and well worth seeing!

“Amazing views with a highly experienced photographic guide”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2014 via mobile

My wife and I went on the photographic tour at 10:30am with Rob.
It was excellent!
Rob is an avid photographer himself and he briefed everyone before we went in to ensure our camera settings were maximised to get the best from the canyon..
He knew all the "hot spots" in the canyon and positioned everybody well to get the best photo opportunities
He was also a strong guide - ushering "stragglers" from other groups to get out of the way to ensure we had best natural photos without people in it
Overall, if you are looking for a good photographic tour, I would highly recommend it - you don't hear about the geological history, but do get to hear about the way the Navajo live today and a perspective on how hard life is for them in modern day on the reservations

“Very disappointing.”

Antelope Canyon, physically, is an awesome sight to behold. The tour itself however, provides zero insight into it whatsoever. We booked the first tour, 8:30AM. The dozen or so guests sit in an attached trailer while the tour guide drives, completely separated from the guests. What I couldn't understand is why didn't he have a microphone and speaker set up, to give us information during the 15 or 20 minute ride? How about the history, the geology, the land? Nothing. When we arrived to this super crowded, narrow tunnel,, still no information. It was nothing but the guide taking everyone's camera, phone and just taking pictures! No offense, but I can google and get these images anytime. Summation: The canyon is well worth seeing, the tour could be and should be great, but it is just the opposite. Disappointing.

“Great tour guide, amazing experience.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 15, 2013

I'd always seen photos of this place, and I knew that I had to include in into our honeymoon.
DH didn't really care either way if we saw Antelope canyon or not, after our visit he is so glad we did, he loved it.
I booked with Chief Tsosie tours due to their reviews on tripadvisor, we visited on a Tuesday at 1:00pm at the end of October.
The tour for both of us with all fees was $92, not bad for what we got.
We were taken to upper canyon, and it was just us and one other couple heading out, our guide said she hoped it would be a quiet day and we wouldn't have too many other people walking through the canyon with us.
I had read so many reviews talking about how crowded it was and made it less fun.
We arrived after a 10 - 15 minute drive from the main office , the ride was bumpy, but is part of the fun.
4 other vehicles were outside the canyon entrance, and as we were walking to the entrance all the groups were walking out, so us and the other couple had upper Antelope canyon completely to ourselves, It was wonderful.
It wasn't until we had made it to the other side and were about to go back through it to leave that a huge group of about 40 were coming through, so timing was perfect and we had an amazing experience.
Our guide was really great, the tour should have been an hour inside the canyon, 1 1/2 hours with the drive to and from, but our tour inside the canyon lasted 1 1 /4 hours.
She showed us exactly what setting to put our cameras on to get the best shots.
She also played the flute when we reached the end of the canyon, sounded very pretty.
She showed us all the parts inside the canyon that look like different things and how to get the best picture of them, like a bear, Abe Lincoln, a heart, monument valley, a penguin etc...
It was such a beautiful magical place, and we are so happy it was included into our honeymoon and that we managed to squeeze it in.
The area also has horseshoe bend, worth a visit too.
I'd love to come back and visit lower Antelope canyon as well, wish we'd had time for both.
Make sure to visit this beautiful place if in the area, and book with chief Tsosie.
