A highlight of our Alaska visit! We did this trip the day we were flying out of Gustavus at 5:40 PM. Our family of 8 loves to go off the beaten path so the Remote Island River Fishing Trip was an awesome way to spend our day. Natalie is a perfect guide and is passionate about what she does. She knows the area well. She is very flexible and willing to pace her trips to individual needs. Practically every cast yielded a fish. We got to experience hiking and wading through and at the edge of the river at low and high tides as well as savor the beautiful scenery. Natalie keeps a keen eye out for bears and is very conscious of everyone’s safety. She is well respected in the community and her tours fill quickly, so book early! She responds promptly to emails and questions. Nobody else offers a tour like this. So happy I found her website online. I wish we could have gone on a kayaking trip as well! Thank you Natalie for wonderful memories!

Our family had a blast sea kayaking with NatVenture ! Natalie is a cool cat; she is kind, patient, organized, and extremely knowledgeable. We spent 4 hours with her on Sea Kayaking, which was really cool. So great...that we booked her a few days later for a river fishing trip. We had a blast, saw so many cool things, and were catching plenty of salmon in the rain! My wife and 6 year old are still raving about her. Incredible experience :)

Natalie was awesome. We took her 4-hour sea kayaking excursion (including our 10 y.o. daughter — not all places will take kids under 12) and we saw whales, otters, a kelp forest, and some great tide pools! She was super helpful and also just fun to chat and hang out with! What a great way to spend the morning in Gustavus!

Natalie was great. We kayaked down the salmon river and she kept us clear of the snags and logs in the river. She taught me the best technique for fly fishing here and took us to all the best spots to catch fish I caught 3 pink salmon and my friend Tim caught 3 salmon and 3 Dolly Varden. We had a great time.

So many favorite parts! Hooking and landing four salmon on my first four fly rod casts; hiking the amazing Mud River; seeing a landscape and setting without any obvious evidence of human presence and of course working with a very competent and people friendly guide who clearly cares about her environment. Natalie gave me helpful tips when necessary but never went all "guidish" on me, never was overly directive or controlling. She basically stood back and let me experience the moment and the fishing while at the same time remaining continually aware of our surroundings. I had requested the opportunity to fly fish and so she showed up with a spinning rod and a fly rod, along with her own Nat-made lures and a fly called a Humpy Hooker which was amazingly successful. I had never caught Dolly Vardens before and that was so fun. The boat ride to and from our (literally) jumping off point was enjoyable and the actual wading to shore was also fun. From reading other reviews and from talking with Natalie on our trip, it is clear she is very versatile, comfortable working with people of all ages and all experience levels. She told me one of her greatest joys is watching people catch their first fish. I would fish with Natalie again in a heartbeat and have been and will be recommending her to everyone.
