“most amazing campsite ever”

we loved everything about this campsite.. staff were so friendly and helpful, upgraded to patio spots and they were the best we had ever seen. Spacious, grassy areas, barbeque, huge table and chairs with cushions and umbrella and the fire pit to boot. restaurant and ice cream parlour on site. cabins looked good too.

we had two dogs and were sited right by the woods so easy to walk them.

great location just minutes from the park entrance, restaurants and grocery shopping. loved it loved it loved it

Room Tip: if you can afford it go for the deluxe patio sites!

We are presently staying at this KOA. And it will be the last time. this afternoon while walking my 15 lb dog. We there attack my a vicious 100 lb dog from a diferent camp site. luckly I was able to fight the other dog off even though he did have my dog on her back and under him, I got her away, to keep her from being mauled by this very large dog. Complaints to the office only got me a ( I talked to them) They should have been removed from the park right then and there.. If a child would have been there it could have been very diferent..
so don't recommend staying here with small animals or children as they don't seem to have much of vicious aniaml policy here at this campground..

After months of searching online where to stay in the GNP area, we decided to splurge a little and book the Tucker Lodge at the West Glacier KOA in early July 2012. The campground is so conveniently close to the park's west entrance yet tucked away off the highway so that it is peaceful and quiet. The campground itself is well-kept and the quiet hours starting at 10 p.m. were observed and appreciated! Check-in was easy and the campgound store had pretty much all of the items we needed, although we did bring a lot of our own non-perishable food. We did have dinner with Gene one evening and our steaks were wonderful. We also had breakfast there the morning we left and again, the food was great - and VERY reasonably priced.

As for Tucker Lodge itself - the home is absolutely beautiful and the kitchen, complete with all the dishes and appliances you could want including icemaker in the full-size refrigerator, was awesome. The only reason this review is 4 out of 5 was one glaring issue with the house - it is NOT air-conditioned. Although the KOA website does not advertise it being air conditioned, I think most people (like we did) would assume that for a vacation rental home, especially when paying peak rates, it would be air conditioned. The daytime temps were in the 90's the 5 days we were there and although the temps drop very quickly once the sun goes down, the house did not. Many of the windows did not have screens, including the front door, so it was hard to get good cross-ventilation going (too many mosquitos to leave the door open without a screen). The mid-size, lesser-priced cabins at the campground had window air-conditioners. Had we realized Tucker Lodge did not, we would have saved some money and booked one of these cabins.

This KOA is a must-stay for anyone visiting the Glacier National Park area or touring around the area. We reserved in advance (strongly recommended), arrived on our motorbikes, and stayed in one of the "deluxe cabins" that are very well furnished indeed. Our comfortable abode had everything we needed, from towels to a full barbecue tank. Within minutes of our arrival, we were having a refreshing glass on the porch, watching the sun set over the mountains, while juicy steaks sizzled on the grill. We stayed 3 days, touring and hiking in the Park, and it was a splendid time. Yes, it was a bit on the pricey side, but guess what? Everything in the area is pretty expensive. This KOA provided excellent value for money. We definitely plan to return here and stay again.

Room Tip: As stated, the Deluxe Cabins are superb.

Great spot for our family of five. We rented a mid-size deluxe cabin and the place was spotless upon arrival. The amenities are perfect, from the kitchenette to the propane grill and patio outside. The staff was friendly and helpful. No question that we will return. Great spot.

Very nice campground!! Back from the road, no highway noise! Great restaurant serving breakfast and supper of you need it. Showers and bathrooms very clean! Would recommend for anyone!! The campground is very busy and I would strongly recommend reservations although they were very accommodating when we just showed up! Close by is a lot of fun things to do! There's a family fun centre with a maze, bumper boats, mini golf and go carts. Lots of white water rafting companies. Helicopter tours and the trip to Logan's Pass!

Great place, with great amenities. You name it, they have it there, including a little restaurant.
We chose it because it's close to the west Glacier National Park entrance.
Do they promise wifi? yes, but it is horrible, likely due to the crowding in the sold-out KOA. Took 1/2 hour to sign on, and getting any work done is a huge challenge. I'd say it's much slower than dial-up, so beware!

Room Tip: your neighbors will be close but it's a very nice facility, except for the wifi
