We stayed at Glacier Campground because of how it is set up. Beautiful wooded area with level pea gravel spaces and your choice of hook ups. The lady in the office was very polite and helpful, but the other couple didn't seem to know as much. The grounds keeper was extremely nice and he prided himself in keeping a clean campground. Shower houses and laundry room were very clean. Close to the entrance to the park as well as other places to visit in the area. I liked, but didn't rent, the cute little cottages with propane grills to use. Just loved the overall feel of this campground.

After driving out the east side of Glacier NP we decided to find a place to camp. Glacier Campground is convenient and had beautiful and well separated campsites. One night was under $25. The site was well kept, had a level pea gravel base for our tent, picnic table and trees all around. Only one issue: Train whistles. Yep, bring ear plugs as there is a train line nearby and the trains blow their whistles as they pass, even at night. We really loved the place and the lady at the counter was terrific. There is also a small resturant on the premesis that is privately owned and serves up good steaks.

Booked for a busy August long weekend one week in advance and was still able to score a nice private tent site. Site was clean and had a nice upper level for the tent which was far away from other campers. Was able to position our SUV in a way that we had complete privacy as well. Bathrooms were clean with hot showers. Wifi available although we didn't use it, and a cute restaurant as well (other campers told us it was very good). Did not realize it was outside of the park at the time of booking, but it was such a short drive it didn't matter. Also found it very helpful that Columbia Falls (just past Hungry Horse) was a short drive away as well. Town had grocery, better gas prices, liquor, and great deals on firewood/ice. Ladies that were working were also super friendly as well. Great 5 summer nights, thank you!

We camped in a tent for 4 nights here. Nice restrooms and showers. Nice wooded and private campsites. Staff is friendly and helpful.

The only problem is the loud train whistles. The trains run all night long. This will be a problem at every campground in the area as the trains run alongside hwy 2. No fault of the campground, but if you need quiet, you need to camp far away from the tracks.

First the cabin we had was nice and plenty of room for my husband and I. We reserved a cabin for 3 nights left for 3 nights to stay at the KOA on the East side and then back for 1 night before heading out. Good location and very close to the bathrooms/laundry both of which were very nice and clean. We always had hot showers. Also great location on the West side. First night was fine second night....not so good. We were in a section where 5 cabins are in a little cove all together. All of the other cabins next to ours were rented out by the same family. About 11:30pm they came back to camp and were drinking. All of them (at least 15-20) were very loud, yelling, singing, generally just acting stupid drunk and obnoxious. We could not find the number to call the owners and because we were seriously outnumbered and had no idea how a large group of severely intoxicated people would react to us confronting them we just dealt with it...we were up from 11:30 until 3:00am. Then about 5:30 am one of them tried to break into our cabin. He was so drunk, he didn't know which cabin was his. Thankfully he was so drunk my husband just pushed him back off our porch and told him he had the wrong cabin. Needless to say, it was unsettling. It was just frustrating that people knew we were in the cabin and were so inconsiderate. We hiked all that day, were up most of the night and HAD planned for an all day hike the next day. We did go to the office the next day and the lady running it gave us that nights fee back which was good. The family left the next day and the next night was fine. Fast forward to later in the week when we returned for 1 night. A different lady checked us in she told us the amount due and I let her know that we paid for everything when we checked in earlier in the week. She said it wasn't marked and she would check with the other lady running it (I do not remember the name). We get to our cabin and a few minutes later the lady comes to the cabin telling that no she never charged us. I let her know that she absolutely DID charge us. We went back and forth and she was very insistent that she didn't because she didn't mark it on her paper. As we were going back and forth a young guy comes up on an ATV with a signed receipt in his hand showing that she DID charge us. She just said, oh I guess I did charge you and got in her car and drove away, no apology, no saying my mistake etc. it would have been nice for her to at least say she was sorry. Not sure if we would return, that last incident just left a bad taste in our mouth. Facilities were fine, and I am sure our issues were the exception and most never had a problem there. Just make sure you hold on to your receipt!!

Finally found a private campground that is run like the provincial parks in Canada. Every one of their 180 sites is spaced out and provides just enough privacy to relax and enjoy the great outdoors. Amazingly, water and 30 amp service are available, something you would only expect at the crammed in KOA's or RV parks. Showers were hot and clean. The sites can be tight to back into, if you aren't comfortable maneuvering your rig, you might want to go elsewhere.

The noise from trains and helicopters is a part of the area; if you want silence you will need to ditch the RV and head into the backcountry with your tent.

We spent two nights in September and will return next year to do a little more exploring of the area.

Reserved three sites 5 months before our trip and glad we did. Three motorhomes traveling together and everyone loved the wooded campground. Lynn in office gave us our daily "do not miss" list for the area we were seeing. Friendly staff, hot showers and the outdoor restaurant was also a hit.
