It's not just an ice cream stand. Eddies cafe provides really good food at reasonable prices. We ate here once for lunch and returned for more huckleberry cobbler. Yum! It is owned by the same owners of the Izaak Walton restaurant on Hwy 2.

There are not many choices for foods or ice cream in Glacier National Park. But you must try the huckleberry ice cream at Eddie's.

Our group ordered the trout dinner, an elk burger, a chicken sandwich and salad, the huckleberry riesling, and craft beer. The riesling went well with the spicy salad dressing but would be too sweet on its' own. All of the food was good, but the trout portion was very small. The rest of the meal was a decent portion. I would dine there again if in that neck of the woods, but wouldn't make a special trip for it.

We visited Eddies several times over a weekend visit while staying at Apgar Lodge. The restaurant serves an ample breakfast for a reasonable price and the wait staff, heavy on the overseas students, try hard. The interior is clean and simple and no one was there at the seven am opening for customers. A few folks came in for coffee and the paper so I don't know if it's a reflection on the restaurant. The camp store/gift shop just needs to be a camp store. There are plenty of touristy gift items at West Glacier entrance without using space at Eddies. They do have premade sandwiches that looked pretty good but simple dinner choices for two people was hard to come by. We didn't need eight hot dogs or Rahman noodles. The huckleberry ice was great. This corner of the Apgar complex is pretty busy at night and an occasional deer might be seen checking out Eddies.

I've never written a review before but decided to post this, I ordered the house salad with chicken, $11.99 for salad plus chicken for $3.99...that's a $16 salad that was literally lettuce, soggy croutons and about an ouch of shredded chicken, by far the worst salad I have ever had..period. Obviously the owner knows you have limited options but this is ridiculous..I will say my server was excellent, must have been an exchange student, extremely respectful and never had to ask for a thing, skip dinner and go get a huckleberry cone next door
