We had a mid morning breakfast of easy over medium eggs, sausage and an English muffin on June 28 . We were greeted by a lovely young woman who told us it was her first day of work and that she was in the USA on a student exchange for 3 months. Our order wasn't taken for 25 minutes and it wasn't served for another 25 minutes. When we asked when our meal would be ready, the server, who wAs not the original greeter, said "soon". When we complained about the wait, as they were not busy, supervisors were sent over. The first, a male, apologized for the wait, and didn't tell us who he was or what was up . At least the lady who came over later said there was a world wide National Park exchange program and that they had 10new employees starting that day and that a med student was cooking our eggs that morning . I suggested that they be upfront about the situation, so customers can be more understanding about the wait.
They seem to be the only restaurant in the Village of Apgar.....it was OK, nothing special. The next day we had ice cream....those students had that business more organized, although the list didn't match the offerings. Would I eat there again....No....not because of the wait and the new students learning the job.....but the culture of how one is treated and only get attention if you complain! That is an owner/management issue.
