Words cannot express the beauty of this area. Pictures don’t do it justice. It was breathtaking. We had a 2, a 9 and an 11 year child with us so we did the Going to the Sun Road and took advantage of the stops available on the road. We took some shorter hikes and enjoyed all of it. Can’t wait to go back and complete more lengthy & off the road trails when they are older!

Glacier was the twelfth national park visited.
This visit was unique because the visit was done by train. Going thru the park and viewing the mammoth mountains was quite an experience. Their ice and snow caps glistened in the sun and the surrounding meadows beamed in the warmth.
While Yellowstone is celebrating it's 150 yrs as a US National park, Glacier Natural park in Montana is worth the time to enjoy.
Yet,of the twelve we've visited, the most awesome has to be Yosemite in Merced, CA.

By far the best national park in our system. Everywhere you go, the views are amazing and vast. Did a couple of day hikes, all kinds of weather, wildlife and nature at its finest. IT car get crowded and its a hassle trying to get your GTSR pass, but its all worth it. I only spent two days there but could have easily doubled that.

We visited at the end of September - probably the best time to visit just before the "Going to the Sun" Road closes. We took the Red Bus tour of the GTTS Road, then drove it the next day. Highly recommend the Red Bus as you get some great commentary from the driver (thanks Matt!). We drove it ourselves the next day to make some more stops, but were unable due to all the traffic on the Road. If you decide to drive the Road, make sure you know what you're getting into. We saw an older couple driving past us, stopped on a hairpin curve, obviously frozen up...felt sorry for them but sympathize also. If you don't get onto the Road, or are willing to hike a lot, you won't get a good look at the Park.

Glacier National park was a wonderful experience. The "Sun Road" is a little tough if you do not like heights and narrow roads. We had wonderful hikes and saw wildlife. There is a shuttle service which does have some long waits. Avalanche Lake hike was a favorite.
